I am using Swift Elite for Karaoke and a few people have asked me to record them singing. I am wondering how I do this, whether I need more wires from mixer to laptop. I did try and record someone using Virtual DJ but the playback only had the Music and not the persons voice.

Any advice on how to go about it and how I need to wire it up.

Philips done a machine where you could record a singer and then if you wanted sell them the disc. you could also playback them singing immediately afterwards it was great if they were rotten. If you then finalised the disc it could be sold on to them. I did this abroad and got a disc of me singing I then tried it myself in the UK and nobody was interested. i guess you have more money to burn on holiday.

i have done this in the past taking the extra set of out puts from my mixer to a mini disc machine i could record them live and then play it back..was ok as a gimic but i found most people hated hearing themselves and some customers definitely didn't want to hear some singers again.

Yes, you will need a Left and Right phono leads from the Record phono output on the back of the mixer to the input on the minidisk, use to work a treat when I use to do Karaoke.
