Dream Catchers 0
Last night was a brilliant night. Everything was running late, they should have finished their meal and vacated the room for 5.30 but they only got out at about quarter past six. By the time they had removed the top table from the stage it was 6.45, managed to do a fast setup and was on for 7.45. They had a wedding singer called Johnny Harper who is Bobby Balls nephew, he was brilliant. Anyhow the bad news, at just turned midnight my deck stand collapsed :scared: it was actually part of their stage that gave way under one of the legs :damn: , decks, amps, computer, laptop everything went all over the stage. Totally knackered one PC and smashed an LCD monitor too  . Managed to get back on in about five minutes (seemed more like five hours though). Bride came up at the end of the night and said I'd done a great job and was really pleased that I managed to finish the night off, the wedding planner from the hotel also did the same. What type of stage was it...ie/ fixed wooden stage? Sorry for all the questions..just interested! Dream Catchers 0
Now what happens? Claim on insurance which is worth it I expect. What is your excess? What did the venue have to say about it? What type of stage was it...ie/ fixed wooden stage? Sorry for all the questions..just interested! My excess is £200 so not really worth claiming, the LCD had some dead pixels so I was going to replace it soon anyway, the PC motherboard has got a crack in it so is scrap. It was only a P3 so I was also thinking of getting a P4 or dual so I'm not all that out of pocket really, luckily the hard drives weren't damaged. The stage was one made out of boxes made from plywood, I'm not going to try to claim from the hotel, I'm sure they would try to get out of it. Jim
jukeboxdj 0
Friday night i had an engagement party and what a great night it was......cheese cheese and more cheese  they danced from the moment i started playing and the requests where all songs such as the one and only - chesney hawkes, 99 red balloons - nina, u cant touch this - mc hammer and even had over 100 people doing the hokey cokey Saturday night i had a wedding where the bride and groom were bikers which made for an interesting evening with a good mix of rock music, which to be honest was a refreshing change for me and a nicer bunch of people you couldn't meet sunday afternoon a communion party with repeat clients, an easy afternoon with a mix of games and music followed with a couple of bookings provisionally taken so a successful weekend sunday night it was of to the movies to see the latest indiana jones movie my opinion - not anywhere as good as the originals, has lost something along the years .....

TonyB 0
And now for something totally different. Just got home from a long weekend in the Lake District. Pretty lucky with the weather: http://www.ambron.co.uk/pics/lakes%202008%20085.jpg This was me on the way up Helvellyn yesterday (Tuesday), a little hot and bothered smile icon :) : http://www.ambron.co.uk/pics/lakes%202008%20091.jpg This is as far as we got, Red Tarn just below the summit. Unfortunately the weather started to close in so we decided not to go all the way. If you look carefully you can see me sheltering behind a rock. http://www.ambron.co.uk/pics/lakes%202008%20099.jpg A final image of the clouds engulfing the summit: http://www.ambron.co.uk/pics/lakes%202008%20096.jpg Edited May 28, 2008 by TonyB
