datamoonking 0
Hi all. I have just bought a pair of these EV SX200's and all i know about them is there spec. Are they a reliable speaker? and they only have a 12" lf driver so i am not sure what bass quality i will get from them. Any comments on them would be great. Cheers James www.freewebs.com/djs-for-hire
superstardeejay 0
Quality-wise they're one of the best and very reliable. Bass-wise, it depends on what you want them for of course. If it's Karaoke in a small pub then its fine, if you want to play disco music or play a drumkit through them I'd get the matching bass-bins. They're generally regarded as having 'american' voicing which means they come across very bright if driven at flat EQ. This is not necessarily a drawback, you can always dull them down if you want to. EV were one of the first manufacturers to sell moulded plastic speakers and they have the most experience in getting a good sound from them. IMHO Their shape has also been copied mercilessly by every chinese manufacturer under their sun. http://www.mmproductions.co.uk/Resources/sx200.JPG .
