Big B 0
Well where do i start just the best 2 hours of light fun i have ever had ( i must get out more ) ok lets start with Two Kam Swingfires lights fairly big and heavy will need a sturds strong lighting rig, great effectsand so many of them as well only realy tried them out in my front room so fulll effect wont be seen till this weekend as i will be using them for my next gig. But i will say that because they are led they are nice bright and only work with sound. Good buy though Now the one i was most excited about was my new ADJ led messenger and may i say what a light the size of a house ok not realy but it is big not realy that heavy comes with the remote and ird one bad thing though it comes with the american lead and no adaptor so had to go to argos and get one. When i finally got it plugged in i started to play, sooooooo many programs to play with all sound to light or not its up to you, then i found the messenger wher you put what ever you want in it does have pre programmed one's in already but you can edit them to whatever you want, i put in my disco name Big B's Mobile Disco and watched as it went scrolling along the ceiling. all in all a great light and i would say a must have for any dj because when you attend you next gig you will impress the birthday girl/boy or anybody who has just got married with a message saying for example: Happy Birthday Donna scrolloing along the wall or the ceilling. Brill light i am going to get another 1 so i can have master and slave. Forgot to mention i got it for £139.00 inc VAT & P&P Edited July 8, 2008 by Big B Big B's Mobile Disco Crystal Wedding Fayres info@bigbdisco.co.uk 08445 040 841(option 2) 07547 686920

Paul Smith 0
OK you've started so here's some questions: Is there a limit to the number of letters you can program for any one message - if so how many? How much does it weigh? Some photos please.

UKHero 0
I got one and an impossibled the other week for the kids disco's... No heat so a H&S bonus and the kids or school love it... 30 letters soon run out though The above is 30 characters long... But yes a great effect but could be seen as a little too cheesey for the upper market weddings IMHO Nik Edited July 9, 2008 by UKHero Niks Roadshow
analyst 0
So for a wedding, lets see how far it would go: Congratulations to Jennifer and Matthew (oops!) Hmmm, poor old Matthew might be miffed 'cos he doesn't get his name up in lights. Looks like I'll be sticking to the old data projector for now, where at least I can project the walls/ceilings with: Congratulations to Jennifer and Matthew from all your family and friends at the Bat Out Of Hell Tiddleywinks club. . . . not that I would, of course. tongue out icon OK, cynical comments aside, it looks a good light really. Do we assume in "moonflower" mode it performs very much like an Impossibled or that ilk, or does it keep to the same linear projection format?

It does some very basic patterns in the linear style you mentioned no where near as good as the impossibled IMHO but good fun for kids parties etc... Paul Smith 0
Maybe wait until the Mk II version and hope it will either have more letters available or allow multiple messages so in the example given it would be: Congratulations to Jennifer and Matthew from all your family etc etc - now this would be a more useful effect

It cant take up much memory... The thing is you can have 15 different lines of text each upto 30... Its a shame you cant sort of daisy chain them... Bouncy Dancefloor 0
great effect, but i agree on the limitations, however this whole LED thing is still very new, so they are improving things at an amazing rate!
stardust 0
A couple more questions if you don't mind, What are the light effects like without the text ? (apparently it also acts as a light effect without text?) Does it fill a lot of the floor ? For people to read the text (kids for example) - Is it best to display it onto the floor or wall ? If you have this effect on a T-bar/Stand which is high up - if you want to add "happy birthday Dorothy", i presume you would have to get the ladder out and type in the text via the normally short ps2 keyboard lead? or buy an extension cable. I want to buy one of these, but just checking before i make up my mind, cheers STeve oohh

Personally, if I am using the light as an effect I point it at the floor and aim it between two other effects as the width of the patern isn't that big (I find). For messages/text I get better results off a wall. The light comes with an infra red remote control that you can use to program the text with although the "typing" is displayed on the wall as you do it. I find the remote quite awkward though. Just my opinions. Best regards, Glenn. Glenn Knights. Mirage Moblile Disco Wickham Market Suffolk. www.miragemobiledisco.co.uk
NRG Roadshow 0
Maybe wait until the Mk II version and hope it will either have more letters available or allow multiple messages so in the example given it would be: Congratulations to Jennifer and Matthew from all your family etc etc - now this would be a more useful effect Does it not do that already then? Program the first line as message 1 second line as message 2 third line as message 3 Then all it needs is an auto select so it shows message 1,2 & 3 in order, and jobs a good un! If it does not do this then why not, that would make it so much more freindly. Looks like You Tube Legend Mr Ellaskins has jumped on the Messenger band waggon. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8DmAhg-JBUI&...feature=related The guy does make me laugh..... Check out.... "Could you say happy birthday to dorothy who is 103, well firstly you better do it quickly before she drops dead" Tope bloke LOL "Practice and enjoy" LOL Edited September 17, 2008 by NRG Roadshow
