Revelationroadshow 0
Not quite DJ related, but we have just been booked to take our chocolate fountain to the VIP tent at an indurance horse race event next weekend. The VIP's are mainly arabs and will include the King of Bahrain and his son and party... All very exciting! However the purpose of the post was just to see if anyone could fill us in on the correct etiquete with this type of client. We are booked through a catering company who have done these before and they have advised on dress code and when we can and can't set up, but just wanted to make sure we had it all covered. Have a feeling Marky Mark has worked out that way? Or am I completely off the mark?

DJ Marky Marc 0
well done , hope you get some more bookings from them.. think of it like any other realy posh gig.. take your prompts from who ever is in charge of the catering. and just keep out of the way of the guests as much as possible I would think, unless invited by the client to do more... and try not to get caught with your camera out.. that wont go down too well im sure..

One of the problems with a chocolate fountain is that there is a lot of interaction with the users (mainly to stop them getting messy). Is this likely to be a problem?

Is this likely to be a problem? I think you will find they are skilled in keeping clean and eating with maners... unlike the great unwashed british public i see stuffing there faces with these chocolate fountain type things .... to be honest it wont be unlike any other gigs you do. but im not sure why you would be there interacting.. if it was me booking the fountain would be set up and maintained/restocked but would not be supervised..

I think your first statement explains your last. From our experiance, it is absolutely vital to fully staff and interact with people using the fountain. Some companies don't, which is why we get recomended to go back to venues and they don't!
