60th Party. Music?

Recommended Posts

I have my 1st ever 60th Disco next saturday!!

I am quite excited about it as i have had literally a year of Discos catering for age groups 4 - 18

so it will be nice to play something different,

I have sent a music playlist to the customer and waiting for it to come back,

If anyone has done one recently and has any music tips i would appreciate it.

Cheers

Steve

Best advice is early doors play 2 or so popular hits from each era and look for foot tapping or interaction.

Believe it or not more mature people like new stuff.

Better still consultate with the client and get a rough idea.

i do about 20 of these type parties each year as an average.

Ring the client and ask for their preferences and requests, and get an idea of who the guests are, whether a speech will be made/cake cuting and so on. I suspect they will be a totally mixed age group leaning towards on average middle age plus with a few kids.

You will need to mix up the style of music and see how it goes. Yoy can't really go wrong with plenty of 60's, 70's and a few 80's plus mainstream more recent stuff eg Duffy.

good luck

This was an e-mail from a lady who knew what she wanted for her birthday/retirement party, a PARTY. It was fancy dress, too. (Oh, she was a West Ham supporter, but I suppose somebody has to be. tongue out icon )

NB no slow tunes.unless requested on night of course.

She decided that we were the best judges of the crowd and we all had a great evening. And, yes, a couple of slow tracks were requested towards the end.

So don't assume it will just be 60's & 70's stuff. It still falls to you to gauge the atmosphere.

You want me to play what?
