Warrior 1k8

Recommended Posts

Hi I have two warrior is 1000 they both are fine worked very hard lives but still great,so i decided to get another thus i got the 1k8 sounds great when its on! The problem is its gonna cost me loads to send it back so if its a simple fix i can do it.

Any way this is what it does.

Switch it on fine all ok leave it playing on low as in mixer low amp volume high 1 channel goes off turn mixer up and i mean up and the dead channel wakes up and works for about 5 mins then off again,no signel light on the amp,i have changed leads mixer even speakers same thing every time.

There is no distortion heat its like it just goes to sleep give it a kick input wise and it wakes up?

Help please os is it !!!!!!

Oh the place i got it from wants me to pay postage to send it back and for them to send it back to me :protest:

I agree with Paul. Putting a big signal through a dead channel and then it suddenly blurting forth is usually a bad connection....somewhere.....(dodgy jack maybe??)

Not to be confused with genuine sleep modes or noise gates as used by certain Soundlab and Crown (!!) amps which naturally go to standby after a few seconds of inactivity.

id look at the inputs

we have a cheaper Warrior here on the bench, new out of the box and its intermittant on one side, we've narrowed it down to the pot/and or where it reaches the board

in regards to postage, its quite standard to have to pay postage to return an item (hence why you should buy from your local retailer and not try and save £5!!!) Charging you postage to get it back to you is a little harsh if there is a genuine fault.

i presume its still udner warranty? Prolight who own Warrior and renowned for trying to charge for repairs, even to under warranty stuff!! (almost like returning a car under warranty to your second hand car dealer where you got it from)
