Norfolk DJ 0
I assume for those doing more than 30 functions are doubling up with lunchtime work or are including more than 1 roadshow. Otherwise, you can't be in more than 1 place at the same time :dan:
Reverandfunk 0
I'd be amazed if anyone is working 2 gigs per day everyday The agent I work with on occassion said last year was the worst year he had known in 40 odd years and I can't see it being any better this year
McCardle 1
just noticed several members on another price related poll routinely taking gigs worth £600+ each. I guess VAT registeration is beckoning soon. "The voice of the devil is heard in our land" 'War doesn't determine who is right, war determines who is left, and you wont win this war.' YourBigEvent 0
FAO Scouser Equation for you to work out how many gigs I did First work out how many days there are in a whole week, to do this look at a calender or diary and forget the last three letters of each of the days, therefore it should look like the following MON TUE WEDNES THURS FRI SATUR SUN Now add all the above together, making sure that each 'day' is only counted once 1+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 7 Therefore we arrive at a number of 7 days per week. In the above statement I stated I did 2 discos per day Therefore... (1+1+1+1+1+1+1=7) (x 2) = 14 On one day of the week I only did one gig Therefore (1+1+1+1+1+1+1=7) (x 2) = (14 - 1) = 13 Hope this helps .....but what do I know ? (1 gig) . You said you did 2 gigs a day except Sunday. Therefore I assumed that on the Sunday you used it as a day of rest and did no gigs. So on the sunday (which was gig number 13) which did you do? lunch or evening? Steve 5 European cups and 18 leagues, that`s what we call history.

Wayno 0
Strange one this year - I have 7 bookings for December, all weddings not an Xmas party in sight untill January then I have 3! Then again I think the majority of my xmas parties last year didnt book untill mid-october through november, plenty of time yet! Sometimes in the pursuit of perfection one can get blinded by size. Mr P 0
Strange one for me this December - only got 3 corporates booked upto now. Funny isn't it, i can remember upto a couple of years ago you would do a booking in December and they would automaticaly book you for the next year. I know of 3 regular Christmas bookings that i used to do - they are all going the Robin Hood for some good old live music. Many of the hotels around here are pricing themselves out of bookings too - that is my opinion. THanks Chris

YourBigEvent 0
2 or 3 a day, did 4 in one day once Can't remember thee exact timings but something like 12 - 2 one venue 3 - 5 another venue 6 - 9 another venue 9(ish !) - 12 at yet another venue The last venue was walk in only though, the rest were small set ups although the not the tightest I have been A few years ago I did a christening in Cheshire, just outside Congleton from 12 noon to 3pm. It is a 4 hour drive to Plymouth from Cheshire My next gig started in Plymouth at 7pm Obviously both had small set up, in fact the first one had the Bose system, with the laptop and microphone plugged straight into it, and the second gig was a staff party so they knew I may be late, although I was started at 7pm ! So 2 gigs and and nearly 600 miles, and 10 hours driving in one day. .....but what do I know ? Reverandfunk 0
I'm intrigued lol 12 - 2 one venue 3 - 5 another venue 6 - 9 another venue 9(ish !) - 12 at yet another venue Seems strange to have a party for 2 hours ie 12-2 then 3-5?? so if you worked 12 til 2, how long did it take you to break down, load, drive to another venue, unload, set up? an hour seems a bit on the short side

Not impossible. It's a lot of wear and tear mind, week in, week out.
