DJ JENX 0
I find Goodparty has gone very quiet over the last 30 days or so, I wonder if they have reduced their spend on marketting on Google etc? DJ Jenx www.JenxDisco.co.uk -
NRG Roadshow 0
I find goodparty produces a lot of dodgy leads for the ones that I go after. Have gone after two 18ths that were on their recently in my area, both turned out to be people researching for a college assignment of some kind and not real cutomers at all. I have gone after two other partys too, and both of them came to nothing as when I spoke to them the day after thier details appeared they had already booked a DJ. I dont think I will be putting anymore money into it, I have had a few jobs out of it, and the income from it is far bigger than the expenses, but even so, most of the time the enquirys seem like a waste of time. TonyB 0
'Spose I had beginners luck, first enquiry I replied to I got a booking for. I wasn't really bothered as the date is in August next year when I am usually on holiday but sod's law, they accepted the quote. Anyone know what a little read box with a "H" in it next to an enquiry means?
DJ JENX 0
I found that I have got almost 10 bookings without spending anything so far as i linked my site and receieved credits and refered someone, so I will carry on until the end of this, probably is worth having as a back up. In total I have spent nothing and made just under 2k from it, i think thats a good investment!! But recently have been seeing it slow. Used to get an email every day with a new gig, but now I get them once a week probably and those are crappy ones. I had one which turned out to be a young girl trying to plan her own 16th birthday party, I didnt know this until the father emailed me apologising but they werent having one! I didnt have a clue it was here as it was "My daughter would like a DJ with all the lights, fog machine, new music etc etc" So that one was a wasted enquiry DJ Jenx www.JenxDisco.co.uk -
Dream Catchers 0
It has quietened down, but I find that is quite normal for this time of year in general. sandysounds 0
i used goodparty extensively last year......and secured more gigs than i didn't. This year its been awful. There has been a rapid rise in bogus enquiries. I had a run one night of 3 bogus enquiries on the trot....I tend to phone rather than e-mail....and noone on the other end knew what I was talking about. Needless to say I saw red, e-mailed the site and complained, and had my enquiy fee refunded. It has certainly put me off. Saying that, I have only gone on there this year to fill the odd date and haven't needed it so much.....I'm getting enough from referrals now (which is annoying in itself as i'm about to relocate) Sandy Blonde dizzy and no longer available

McCardle 1
IMPO, anybody proficient and confident in marketing themselves, and who knows and has studied their industry inside-out should not have to rely on online entities to provide the bulk of their work, because if you rely on them too much and put all of your eggs in one basket then you'll miss them when they go or the novelty wears off, and inevitably it happens, or just becomes so saturated that its no longer the new kid on the block, and eventually instead of 5 other competitors quoting for your niche and area, there may be 70! and no client is going to contact them all, any more than they'll search 70 pages of google!. If the work income justifies the initial outlay and it works for you, then fine, memberhsip can be a useful AID and a BONUS for securing additional work for nights when you are not already booked, but it shouldn't be your be-all end-all of your market place. Word of Mouth and the fruits of your own efforts should be getting a huge percentage of enquiries. If not and you have to rely soley on others and their marketing / efforts and contacts, then something is wrong. YourBigEvent 0
Just had a look at that website, you have to pay to get the information, so you could pay £3, get a telephone number and be told they already have someone ? .....but what do I know ? Danno13 0
Yes, you could but thats the same with all advertising, you could pay £100s for an ad and not even get any enquries. Whereas at least with goodparty you can see the enquiries and buy the ones which suit you. music box 0
Well we only found this site about 5 weeks ago and yup it's another tool to use. Have to say we have got 14 bookings from for this year and 5 for next year and 8 pending all next year Total cost from to the site so far £20 of which I have £6 ponds in credit How is that you may ask well if you wait a while then go to the booking that have not be looked at they are free, so some times its worth a phone call or an e-mail which I did and that turned not only into a phone but a booking as well. Revenue from the site will be approx for this year in depoits so far £700 and to come in is £4400 approx The gigs are very nicly priced and we have next year to come yet as well. The gigs coming in at present have slowed up but are still coming in some peopleleave it to the last moment etc. My web site as even slowed up and with the credit crunch it's going to be slow etc.
YourBigEvent 0
OK, Just chucked a few quid at it, and have sent an email to 25 people, we'll see what happens now, and report back .....but what do I know ? NRG Roadshow 0
Just had a look at that website, you have to pay to get the information, so you could pay £3, get a telephone number and be told they already have someone ? Correct.....and thats happened to me on many many occasions. So far I have had two bookings from goodparty, so the total income totals about £400......and I have spent about £20 to get that £400.......so Im still £380 in proffit. It would be nice to convert a few more enquirys though.......I think the budget idea on the site does not work, most of the time the budgets are way way off. Too many price fishers on goodparty, people out for the cheapest and not the best.
music box 0
Take your point on the budget but if the price is not right for you dont buy it. or wait till it'sfree then give it a try i was amazed how many if the the free ones I contacted had not been contacted by dj's and some of them where no the cheapies iether. Give it go lets face it next year is not going to be easy. Cheers All
NRG Roadshow 0
What I meant about the budget is.... When people put £100-£250.....most seem to want to pay closer to the £100 mark than the £250. Thats obviously not true in all cases, but I find it is in a lot of them. UKHero 0
I love Goodparty I have sold many nights on it. And had many re-bookings so a fee of say £1 has paid back thousands of times over. One gig I won in Oxford for £350 has booked me for 3 more gigs at the same price all confirmed and deposits paid so from that one enquiry alone I have made £1400.00 so far and hope to have more gigs there. You have to cast your net far and wide and you will get the odd idiot or DJ on there trying to find out prices etc... But as long as I am making more than I am spending then I am very happy... BTW I landed my first WDJA gig the other week WOO HOO  Nik Niks Roadshow
UKHero 0
Has goodparty.co.uk died there has not been a new gig available for my areas since 14th October... Whats it like for your choosen areas guys? Nik Niks Roadshow
TonyB 0
Much the same here. There has only been three enquiries in October, last one was 12th October. UK Disco has been a bit better. Picked up 4 bookings from there this months but three of them were referrals from previous clients who for some reason found me through UK Disco rather than my website.
