for me everyone seems too want a £75 job on the 22nd. Had a load of queires for that date, but no work yet.

 

Kids party wise ive had a load of enquires to, and got one booked in :)

22nd must be a jinx on the forum as I have had 6 enquires for this date for various functions and prices but converted none!

This coming Saturday will probably be my last Saturday off before Christmas and its reserved for a family fireworks party. Saturday 22nd Nov is still a bit iffy, have booking but the venue closed down and client is having problems finding another suitable venue but they may change the date.

 

January is quiet for me too. Just the one in January.

 

December is pretty busy and have two rigs out on some nights.

No not into ressidences TBH... Just gigs throught the week and week end.... Last weekend I did 3 gigs as an example....

I use this month to get the vehicle MOTd, serviced, cleaned out etc, and a complete going-over for the gear.

 

This involves sorting out all those 'dodgy' things that develop on the equipment throughout the year, such as noisy fans, loose stuff, a bit of scruffiness creeping in - you name it - the unimportant stuff you don't have time to sort out normally.

 

Also a chance to dismantle the projected lighting and give the optics a darned good clean, and do a PAT test.

 

So - I don't need any work for a couple of weeks at least. :)

It seems that people think just because theres a recession they expect us to work for next to nothing. Pity they don't realise the time, effort and hard cash that goes into making their party a success.

I personally would like to update a few things but dont think its worth it at the moment, holding out to see what the new year brings. One thing for sure ime not doing any advertising in yellow pages next year, spent nearly £2000 this year only to earn me £500 a very poor return.
