I've used the megabars and they are great but have an extremely tight beam angle even when compaired to a PAR. Never used the Acme, but am using a similar LED PAR 64. I would say a par is a lot more versitile than the megabar, but if all you ever want to do is light up marquee linings..... the bars will be fine Edited November 8, 2008 by Revelationroadshow
disco4hire 1
Ok Guys n Gals,, im just about to purchase some lights for up-lighting. Im not into DMX at all so i will be buying something with dedicated controllers, which one of the two above would you go for. I wouldn't buy either because they just aren't powerful enough, especially for the size of gigs you do. There's a new generation of led Pars coming to the market containing 36 x 1W leds, which is a huge improvement over the current 10mm superbright units. Thoman have them due in later on this month and they are only just over £100 a piece. If you check their site you will find they have a dedicated led colour wash controller which will give you more flexibility than using inbuilt programs, remember you can always dim a bright can, but you can't turn a dim can up. If you want links posting let me know and I'll dig them out for you. New Site Clouds Disco
