Welsh Audio Man 21 0
Hi all, im looking at buying new speakers, but ive not bought equipment for quite a while, so not really sure whats out there, and reliable. Im looking for Passive, 15" full range, with a lower frequency response of 40hz, if not lower (dont think 15" drivers can produce much lower though). Id prefer Ply construction, rather than ABS. Any recommendations? Plus, im looking at getting a new amp... about 800w per side into 4 ohm. Any recommendations? Cheers all Welshy!
Dukesy 0
If you can, have a listen to a passive RCF system with a sub (35 Hz).

Andy Dunn 0
Have a look at A.S.S. speakers on the S.S.E. website. SP4's=1 x 15" + 1 x 1" comp =£200+vat (each!) SP5's1 x 15" + 1 x 6" + 1 x 1" comp =£250+vat (each!) Ply built, pro sound and will last you forever! If you were going to use the bin/top style then they also do a 1x18" and a 1x12" +1" or a 1x10" +1". If you dont believe the posting,go and have a listen, believe me you wont be dissapointed! Ive got a pair of subs, but have no need to take them to smaller venues, im only looking for a pair of speaker about 300w/ 350w rms which i can run by themselves or pair up with my DB operas for slightly bigger venues. Ive not heard of that site, i will take a look... cheers!
Need 4 Sound 0
Hi. I recently got a pair of Yamaha AX15's and they are good for small to medium size events. http://www.djsupplies.co.uk/yamaha-ax15-40...eaker-546-p.asp Also the Warrior DA1300 amp gives quite a punch per pound. http://www.djsupplies.co.uk/warrior-da1300...1300w-284-p.asp Regards, Richie D Need4Sound

Dukesy 0
Amp wise, I'd look on ebay for QSC.

Totally agree - have a look in my review of the ASS stuff on this website. Andy is quite right about the gear and SSE's service is top notch too. The only thing is that SSE don't have any more of the 1 x18" at the moment (I bought the last pair!). The SP5 are absolutely the best full range speakers for disco application that I have ever heard! Nothing can beat them at the price and you have to get Function 1 if you want it better, for the type of cab they are. Amp wise, I'd look on ebay for QSC. Or the Matrix XP1500 does 750w per side at 4ohms and the XP2000 does 1000w at 4 ohms. If you can wait a bit, the new lightweight range will be out and they are stunning (got one for testing at the moment). <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
Bouncy Dancefloor 0
having worked for a Prolight/Warrior dealer who has sold in excess of 100 Warrior amps from the 300 upwards, i can confidantly say they seem reliable, one was faulty from new and 2 were overdriven, aside from that, no problems to report
