exbutlinred82 0
The news tonight reported that Stevie Gerrards fracas may have involved a DJ?? Been in a few tight spots myself. Met a Rumanian woman on Saturday who apologised profusely to me for abusing me six months ago. "I am so sorry for what I said to you that night,Martin......I was p@@@@@.(Didnt sound right with a Rumanian accent). And my sin ?? I played Don Williams.....I Recall a Gypsy Woman. She thought I was taking the mickey out of her!!
McCardle 1
According to most of the news reports today, then yes it does seem to have involved the DJ. Perhaps he didn't play his request?. 2008 seems to have been pretty negative as far as sports professionals in the news are concerned. Steve Garrards Little Bar Room Brawl http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2078984.ece Sheffields' Jordan Robertson who caused a car accident on Xmas day which killed another motorist, http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2080330.ece Luke McCormick who was jailed for 7 years for an M6 drink drive accident which killed two children and paralysed their Father back in June http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1300066.ece What is even more alarming is the fact that large amounts of alcohol consumption probably played a big part in what happened in the first and second stories, and certainly in the third where he was found to be driving at twice the legal limit. Now, I like a drink like anybody else, but i've never driven nor been involved in brawls, even after a heavy session. Then when you add into the equation Linda Lusardi's pathetic recent "I'm famous, get me outta here" phone call to 999 when she was held up in traffic http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/beds/bu...rts/7803169.stm It does make you wonder whether the stars of today really are pampered to the point were they think that they are above the law. Not very good role models IMO. Actually its given me an idea for a 'dilemma' thread :scared: http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22765 Edited December 31, 2008 by McCardle "The voice of the devil is heard in our land" 'War doesn't determine who is right, war determines who is left, and you wont win this war.' Don't take them too seriously I say??? I agree with Mitch. You must take them seriously. They're probably nice people, pillars of the community even, when they're sober but the drink can turn anyone nasty. I won't work if I feel threatened. If someone became problematic I'd converse with the organisers or event staff and if it continued I wouldn't think twice about phoning the police and breaking down when they got there. Wouldn't do your reputation much good but neither would getting into a fight with said person. And your health would then be on the line along with your reputation.
Dukesy 0
So, the media is saying that the person assulted was a 'DJ', i.e. DJ Marcus McGee, or, if not, is it just accepted that ANYONE who stands behind a set of decks IS a DJ?

Remember the Steer'n'go toys that parents used to buy for their kids?. It was a plastic steering wheel that had a sucker mount so it stuck to a side window in the back of car, and allowed the kids to play at driving cars like Mummy and Daddy. Could some enterprising company come up with a similar 'CD lookalike', perhaps with some battery powered flashing leds and a realistic looking spinning 'cd'. Then in the event of some pillock causing mither, we can hand them the DJ 'n' go and let em get on with it. Lets face it, most of them wouldn't even notice :joe: . (It might also fall into the budgets of some wannabe Dj's too  ) http://www.stuffwelove.co.uk/images/steerngo.jpg Edited July 21, 2009 by McCardle "The voice of the devil is heard in our land" 'War doesn't determine who is right, war determines who is left, and you wont win this war.'
