By this I take it you mean things along the lines of Tight Fit- Back to the sixties, Starsound - Stars on 45 etc.

Only when I feel the mood is right for them. I don't dismiss them as they can be useful tools.

I also play soul banana quite often but don't find the dirty dancing megamix very well received and I play the original tracks. Time of my life always wins!!

I have an old Motown ballad mix which is very well produced and works well for a smoochy session.

I also personally like Grandmaster swing I, but not II.

The old Goodgroovin' 1 & 2 get a regular airing as background music too.

Where's the Motown mix from Kingy? There's a good "Swinging Sixites" mix of one of the Mastermix discs but I'd love to find more Motown stuff for my own pleasure.

It is on a very old Mastermix disc and it is called "motown Emotions"

I found "Motown Emotions" on a couple of discs, including a very reasonably priced Valentine's Day special:

I also did a quick search on the Party Animal discs and found this, which has a couple of Motown mixes included:

No track listing though, but I'll be doing a bit more research. I just wish I had a demand from customers for soul music. I love it, but it's hard to justify all these purchases for myself.

Cheers for the help.

I'll also play a mix when somebody asks for a genre of music that I'm not overly familiar with such as soul or motown. Because I'm not a big fan of either I will often take the easy option and slap a mix on, unless the punter asks for specific tracks.

Grease - i dont consider this a megamix? Am i the only one here? I consider it a stand alone track on its own!

Boney M megamix, i personally like it, but dont play it too often as i can find boney M quite hit and miss

Tight Fit - Back To The Sixties - very handy for crowds which wouldnt necessarily dance to alot of sixties. Tight Fit sorted out a good beat that younger people can recognise and of course each song is very well known (some i wouldnt play on their own, but somehow sound much better in the megamix)

im a big fan of the Flashback 1 CD, very good for early on (background/warmup) as its fairly up tempo music, recognised tracks, yet doesnt kill the party set for later on in the evening
