How can you not have some of these as a mobile dj? there is some grade A classic party cheese tracks in that list!lol

Unhelpful comment. Most of us are always looking for the odd track or two, or obscure tracks that suddently become popular. A good example of this is Tiffany. Only really became popular in the last 7 years or so, but never played by me in the 90's and only played a few times when it was number 1 in 1988.

50% of these will be on Mastermix and the remainder on essential 80's album. I would have a look at ebay for cheap 80's album. When i was in Morrsions last week they were doing a 5 cd essential 80's album which looked excllent for £10. That's the 80's collection with a cube on the front.

Would that be 101 Hits of the 80s? I think Asda were doing it for a fiver when I bought mine. Whether they still are or not I honestly could not say. There will certainly be two or three of the aforementioned hits on there.

I bought that 101 Hits of the 80s compilation, it's fantastic value for money, especially if you don't have a lot from that era. The School Disco compilation is worth a look as well.

"unhelpful comment" i understand that we all look for 1 or 2 but some of them tracks are mainstream stuff. i have forgotten the amount of times i was asked for this type of stuff!

and as for tiffany i have played it or have been asked for it for years to. its a quality track that always does the job!

just my apinion at the end of the day!

I think the post title "Party Essentials" makes these slightly more than "Obscure ?"

I assume that the person concerned does not do Party type DJ'ing and that is why he want's them or else it's a wind up :bouncy:

I think he innocently / genuinly put the post up to ask for advice where he could get all these tracks on maybe one or two cds?

We've all gotta start somewhere and maybe sending some time looking through the Classic cuts range online or those 100 hits compilations available on the high street might be a good idea, as suggested above.

If not maybe look at downloading then LEGALLY online maybe an option and at 79p or lower this would'nt break the bank.

Sometimes its eaiser to ask somebody else than do the 'leg'-work yourself?

but consider that what is written can be interpreted in a million ways.

DJ arrogance is a horrible thing. I have all the tracks listed, as I'm sure most of you do. But why look down on someone just because they don't? Far too often on here we judge others based solely on our own experiences and the work we do. We are all in different situations playing to different crowds in different areas. There are certain tracks that I would call essentials that many of you wouldn't. We have seen many examples on here of tracks and even genres that are huge in certain parts of the country, but get no reaction at all in others.

More importantly, these forums are for Djs to come together (the clue is in the name) share information and opinions, and give each other support. If someone asks for help, either offer it or ignore them.

its not arrogance it is something called an opinian! nothing more than that. as i read it in my OPINION he was asking for the tracks because he diddn't have them.

i am more than happy to help out other dj's and i take help from other dj's

so it looks like people have a problem with people having opinions on topics! ok so whats the point in having a great forum like this?

i am not arrogant far from it! but that is your opinion!

Everyone has a different viewpoint on things. Please remember the word 'interpretation' folks before posting a reply - posts and comments on this forum can be viewed by anybody (including potential clients looking for business services such as ours) and cached for long periods by search engines. Some 'views' may appear to the casual observer to be "sour grapes"...

And on that note, the topic is closed... :pro:
