Dan allanthemsdisco 0 Posted January 13, 2009 Report Share Posted January 13, 2009 Hi guys My name id Dan & i ru a small disco company alanthemsdisco I am based in cornwall and i do gigs locally & sometimes beyond. My background is more in the Club DJ scene playing Hard dance, oldskool rave, but i also love my 80s, classic disco, new wave, hip hop and a bit of rock, hence i enjoy doing discos. I think it helps you to be more open minded music wise and every gig brings a new experience so thats good! I have done a city and guilds sound engineering course (back in 99) so we were still using revox tape machines! I did a music technology course last year & learned Logic audio which was fairly interesting. In terms of my setup, i use a dell laptop and a dj controller numark omni mix but going to go for a vestax vci 300 or a ns 7 at some point. I have a ixture of halogen light fx along with a LED light. No moving heads as yet but hopefully this year that will be changing! Mobile Djing is an interesting industry as its quite a old job in some ways and i do wonder how long the need will remain but as long as a personal, unique service can be offered, i suppose it will carry on for the time being. BTW I am a fully JNC qualified youth worker but being that I am in Cornwall for now, I have had to diversify due to the lack of work in that field down here. along with the desire to have a break from it anyway! So i hope that gives you some insight to me as a DJ & I must add that i am a practising Christian and so this plays a big part in everything i do.
