biggav 0
I bought 10 40 page wallets from Wollies (god rest em!! :amen: ) and did 5 track a-z and 5 artist a-z. after 99squadron's do, i got 3 back... wrecked. pages missing etc. gutted. i'm considering laminating all i currently have and adding new tracks onto a front page "new releases" bit in a wallet so i can change it regularly. www.longweekendmusic.co.uk 60s to present day rock and pop live covers band. Bouncy Dancefloor 0
solid red folders with a4 clear pockets inside, when youve put the paper inside, place a piece of sellotape across the opening to make it watertight!

Paul This is very true and it doesnt matter where and who they all spill beer on your books and slips. it is one of my running costs and i factor that in to my charges. On average i need to do about a books worth or reprints every month (this includes obviously updates) this is about £30 i print out 1200 karaoke slips a month and i "lose" at least 100 pens a month I do not get stressed about it now , i did at first all that time and lack of respect from customers but it is just a cost and you have to rise above it and keep replacing to keep looking professional. deejaymitch 0
This really annoys me. Making karaoke books is expensive, annoying, repetitive, time-consuming and frustrating. And then scumbags draw on them, write on them, rip pages out, spill god knows what on them. And as for pens... Including club residencies, karaoke, pub quizzes, specialised wedding service, Master of Ceremonies, Compere, Night at the Races and much more.
UKHero 0
I now use those cheap plastic folder type things from staples i think there 5 for 99p I use normal paper use five at a gig and dont expect to get them back but a bonus if I do. Helen has plastered the roadshow name and phone no's over them in permenant ink. So students will only advertise my services if they do... Nik Niks Roadshow

Aaaa pens, think someone is building an ark at my local,I never get any back.
DJTauntonJams 0
At current i use some some folio style docets, with the pockets fixed in place. but i have just updated and turned what was 32 pages to 74!! and pens! thank god i work in a hotel, so i just kinda slip a few pens in my pocket and be done with it! Same goes with the photocopying! The books coming back with things in... we only used them for one gig, as i didnt put them in any order :wall: so were pretty much impossible to use unless you had a catalogue of legend and sunfly discs firmly imprinted in your brain.. but i have flowers in them, a phone number appeared aswell and a few pages moved about! didnt upset the chaos in the files anyways! all that from one gig with 3-4 singers! now looking for another alternative. was thinking about laminating the lot then binding them with plastic cuff things. makes it easy to update, and work has all the necessary bits to make all this possible! Working nights can be a god send in a hotel!! laminating 111 pages could take some time tho :/ i think a trip to staples to see what goodies i can find!! NickF 0
I dont do karaoke very often, however i started off using pens and like everyone else found 90% would go walkies by the end of the night. One week i took a last min booking and didn't have any pens, however i did have a 50 pack of tesco pencils (the yellow ones with a rubber on one end and all pre sharpened) I found they worked fine for the slips and i had most if not all back at the end of the night. I have used them with great effect from then on. people tend not to want to steal pencils as much, i think they look just as neat as a pen and are cheaper.
Bobby R - DJ Felix 0
ive got one se book left....give up with them , your probably better off using no plastic, and just accept that theyre gonna get messed upl. a couple of sleaves between them or even cheap college type folders with the clips taped so they cant open them,,,,,the pencil idea sounds good.
