disco4hire 1
I'm intending to upgrade the internal HD of my Denon from 40GB to 120GB in the near future, when looking around for a 120GB laptop drive to do the job with I find there are 3 types i.e. ATA SATA and IDE, which one is it that I need? Also is there anything else I should know before I buy, other than avoid samsung? Edited January 21, 2009 by disco4hire New Site Clouds Disco
DJ Marky Marc 0
you need a 2.5" IDE drive, no bigger than 120gb and not SATA... 5400rpm is ideal fater drives just get hot, slower drives lag.. any make of drive can fail, but don't listen to all the rubbish that people talk. Go for a brand name, seagate, westen digital, maxtor, samsung..... make sure it comes with a decent warranty...
disco4hire 1
Thanks Mark, for supplying exactly the advise I needed once again. One last point, am I correct in thinking fitting it is just a matter of pluging it in to the HD2500 unit and formatting it using the built in function? DJ Marky Marc 0
yes, plug the new drive in select format and go make a cup of tea while it sorts its self out...
