Might be worth looking at the latest Clubland/Floorfillers/Ministry Of Sound albums.

I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. Including club residencies, karaoke, pub quizzes, specialised wedding service, Master of Ceremonies, Compere, Night at the Races and much more.

Whatever you go with don't forget there are lots of old 90s 00s dance tunes that will get them up dancing too.

Try ....

Prodigy - No Good , Charly, Out of Space

SL2 - On a Ragga Tip

N-Trance - Set You Free

Oceanic - Insanity

Sash - Encore Une Fois

even stuff like Livin Joy, Strike, 2 Unlimited, 187 Lockdown etc

Also...

Sandstorm

Insomnia

Tiesto - Adagio For Strings

Scooter - Jumping All Over the World

Utah Saints - Something Good 08

I'd class myself as a mainstream party DJ but this is the kind of stuff i would play to a mixed crowd with a dance music bias.

Plus i always get asked for LOAD of RnB

Try looking at the Kiss FM website or radio 1 dance singles playlist both have all the latest songs that you can play. You might also want to have a look R&B Yearbook 2008 has some really good tracks on it.

Then why not pass it to a DJ who knows what they are doing...???

I am guessing but its probably because A) they want a "deal" or B) they dont want to upset dj cee by choosing someone else.

I have been put in this situation and i found i really enjoyed the research , the opening of my mind to different genres and the learning curve. I got a good positive response and a few bookings from that first gig with people liking the music i played..dj cee is a dj already all they are asking is for him to play a different style than he is used to... we all do that when people ask for requests ..i get asked to play stuff i never normally would at every function i do ..some go down well others dont.

we all have to start somewhere dj cee has already got the experience of being a dj and knows how to work his gear ..changing styles isn't as hard as those first two obstacles IMHO..lets face it many big name club dj's started out doing pubs and grannies birthdays etc first.

now if they were asking for a world mixing championship type dj then yeah hire someone in but playing dance music not a real big issue if your a dj already.

Good call! Its, a disco... a birthday, not a hardcore dance club in ibiza! Treat it as you would any other birthday, your just playing a different genre of music... and know doubt, from my experience, you will have requests coming in left right and centre!

Might be a good idea to stock up on RnB as well.

Never be nervous about playing a different genre. The principles are the same.

Do a bit of research, let you the crowd guide you and it opens up new avenues for you.

Good call!

12 months ago I was playing virtually no RnB and didn't have hardly any.

Now some gigs I play virtually nothing else as the crowd love it!
