Marble 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Report Share Posted February 27, 2009 This CD Jock, for the time being is labelling herself as a "Old school" dj, playing all your favourite songs of yesteryear on CD, live mixing all the way. But then unlike most the disco part of my business is very small. . . so I am able to stay with this soon to outdated format and stick my heels in the ground over produb. I love the feel of a cd, and looking through the insert booklet. . . it will be a shame to lose them. I love looking through my collection and finding a gem, i haven't heard in ages. . . I will always move with the times and am always eager to see new advances in technology. My father can't even set the video to record a TV program. Which SD player did you buy? With regards to Will Young - his single(s) will probably end up on a Now Album anyway so they'll be available on CD that way... although you'll have to wait a few months! What's frustrating is where to buy legal MP3 downloads for DJ use, as I've heard Itunes et al aren't licenced for DJ use? I'm happy to pay for all the tracks, and in fact have many legal downloads, but it's still annoying to have to pay again to burn it onto a CD to play at a gig.. Just bought a load of CD singles as it's a headache to go the download route for me at the moment.. Where do you all get your legal downloads from? Mike I think that's just blurb from days gone by to be honest. All my Hard House and Trance records have this wrote on but the scene wouldn't exist without DJs playing them in clubs. It's not like iTunes are gonna turn up at your gig. Even if a pro-mug inspector turns up they have no authority to search through your equipment. To answer your question Mike, I buy all my downloads from Amazon now. Their pricing is reasonable, in fact they have lots of tracks at 59 and 69p now. Some are only 29p.
