After our initial examination, we found that these domain names to be applied for registration are same as your domain name and trademark. We aren’t sure whether you have any relation with him. vokf 0
although it screams SCAM the website is real and this bit is quite worrying It shouldn't be too worrying, unless you're considering working in Asia? If this is a concern, you'll need to spend £££ on each domain suffix. Companies such as the one that contacted Nik, trade on this fear. I get these type of things a fair bit, and simply ignore them. TonyB 0
Bits of the email that seem strange to me are firstly they have named their client. I would have thought that they would have maintained client confidentiality and just mentioned something like "our client". Secondly, if he does exist and wanted to buy the domains, he probably could just use an online domain register that would have an automated system system to buy if they were available. Personally I wouldn't worry about it considering the the domains.
gadget 0
I've had someone attempt to sell me a .com of one of my domain names... even though I'd already owned it (for about a week at that point). Obviously must have been working from an old domain list! I managed to get djgraham.com for the bog standard price of a few quids, after being registered to a US Person for about 8 years. They had forgotten to renew their registration and it finally lapsed and went back to open market! Cheers, David DJ David Graham Tel: 01204 537716 / 01942 418415 Email: hello@djgraham.co.uk FB: http://facebook.com/djdavidgraham Web: [under construction - it really is coming soon :)]
McCardle 1
Probably designed just to encourage you to register these domain extensions for your own use, by using a fictitious client to create an artificial demand. Some companies do like to snap up all of the extensions as and when they become available in order to preserve their name and stop their competitors from cashing in variations of their domain. Even the lessor used country extensions qualify. They are just probably trying to convince you to think "Wow, I must quickly rush out and buy these domains before 'Mr Zhou' decides to do so and set up a rival company Its just another variation of these 'American Domain Co' type renewals which arrive through the post from time to time, which try and trick you into moving and renewing your domain with them, rather than your existing domain registrar.
