digitaldistortion 0
Well....to be honest the speakers alone retail at more than that (never mind the rest of the gear)......So you didn't do so badly out of that little lot! Cheers! Roy B. Digital Distortion Disco (D3 Entertainments) See you around!

McCardle 1
Lots of common sense things you can do to check integrity. First engage the seller in lots of industry talk, the type of conversations which appear here. Ask them about their gigs and questions on the equipment. Any real musician or DJ will probably cheerfully chat all day about their exploits with you over a coffee. If the sellor seems dis-interested in the subject or is unable to answer your questions and shuffles about nervously to your questioning then heed your instincts and leave well alone. The type of gear which we use is pretty specialised and whilst everybody may have tv's and hi-fis to sell, why would an oridinary non deejaying member of the public have £1000's worth of gigging gear?. This fact alone should be sounding a large klaxon and flashing a 7000 watt laser cluster. Also ask the sellor to set up the equipment so you can hear it. Again if they errm and errrr around setting it up or suddenly forget which bit connects to which other bit then something is wrong, as is suddenly finding that they don't have all of the leads to connect it up smile icon There are bargain to be had out there, and even cars are changing hands at 40% less than they were worth this time last year. After all, if somebody is in debt, selling their gear for £100 today, is worth £100 to them here and now. Tomorrow it won't be worth anything to them, when the bailiffs cease it :scared: Edited March 18, 2009 by McCardle "The voice of the devil is heard in our land" 'War doesn't determine who is right, war determines who is left, and you wont win this war.' JCarey 0
You really can get great bargins, when your not looking for one. I bet there are people reading this thread who when they needed to buy equipment couldn't find that kind of value. Enjoy your purchases john DJ John Carey
Robster 0
im quite pleased with my purchase from the local trade mag 2 x Peavey Hisys 2 (15" 2 way 500w) 2 x Peavey H isys 118 (18" Bass 500w) all in immaculate condition knocked him down to £380 for the lot! Hurraah!! (hence my wanted : amps post!!) Great deal ! nice one i have been searching for quality amps on the cheap and have come to these conclusions Big good quality speakers often go cheap as its down to "the wife factor" the speakers taking up lots of space and the guy gets nagged to get rid.. Quality amps on the other hand are hard to come by because the guys in the know, know that they may come in handy and take up little space in comparison. also many djs bought impressive speakers and often coupled them with lower end in comparison amps I have been looking for a 500 watt x2 quality amp (Crown, QSC ) at a knock down price for ages and can never seem to find one they do not depreciate where as a warrior or skytech etc can be bought very cheaply I have also noticed that many guys are selling older lights at stupid high prices then re listing them when they realise its not what they cost them its what they are worth now ..second hand market is a fickle beast. I get offered mainly bacon and razor blades in pubs by scroats not crown or qsc amps though lol Rob Star EntertainmentsFacebook pagelandline 0161 265 3421Mobile: 0777 99 777

McCardle 1
You really can get great bargins, when your not looking for one But they are only truely bargains if there is a need for them . I must have spent £1000's over the years on various impulse purchases and of all kinds and only a few of them have actually really been of any use or even taken out of the box. Twisted 0
The sad thing about the current situation is I have seen a number of people selling up their equipment cheap as the are struggling financially The Bone Jovi line "Jonny's got is six string in hock" never rang so true one mans bargain is another's desperation As for buying stolen gear is the lowest of the low having been the victim of 6 break ins and then to add insult to injury when I caught one of the little toe-rags I get 4 months!!!!
