djgorey 0
No, it's definitely illegal. It is racist. <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
Dream Catchers 0
There are exception to discrimination laws, this may well be covered by one of the exceptions. Common sense has to prevail at times, just think of other examples. Would the Chipendales be expected to employ a 28 stone 55 year old?, what about male staff in an Ann Summers shop? I think sometimes the racist and sexist cards get played just because somebody feels like the devils advocate. At the end of the day it is somebody that is trying to run an authentic Scottish bar. vokf 0
According to British law, racial group means "any group of people who are defined by reference to their race, colour, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origin Source: http://www.cps.gov.uk/publications/prosecu...rrpbcrbook.html Probably illegal, but it is a Scottish Bar, out of the UK - so unlikely to hire and soft pansy southerners like me! D.X 0
In a sad pathetic country like England the owner would probably be arrested and either fined or jailed. In Tenerife I doubt they care. So some bar owner wants a Scottish DJ for a Scottish Bar, sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Even in England it can be done. Ever seen a White person working in an indian restaurant. I've been to curry houses all over the UK and have never seen one. When I was in Thailand you had to pay to go to the toilet. They had a price for Thais and a higher price for Farang, Thai for foreigner. I didn't feel offended in the slightest. Some people are way too sensitive.
djgorey 0
I would point out that my response was to the question "is this ad legal?". I didn't say whether I agree with the law or not. :xmas: <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
