I have owned a KV2 rig for just over two years now and personally cannot fault them for power output , quality etc etc etc

RIG IS

2 x EX10 TOPS

2 X EX2.2 SUBS

all flightcased ( subs wheeled and permanently housed ).

Wondered if any forum members own a KV Rig and their thoughts on the system.

Previously owned a Nexo PS rig and personally ( non biased ) opinion the KV surpasses it full stop.

Based on US reviews (all positive) I was interested about a year back, the dual 12 sub's spec's read very well.

Although they are a UK company they don't have anybody in Ireland stocking them. Based on the US prices you really would want a listen/demo.

You really would want to be doing a serious trade before looking into these. But I believe they are hard to beat for big sound from a small boxes,

For those interested,

I compared the KV2 powered 10's with the much less expensive RCF ART310A's [powered 10's] .

I preferred the RCF's & they were a third of the price of the KV2's !

I thought the KV2's sounded too middy & i thought the design of the cabinet was more of the "old hat" look, especially with the full metal grill.Output wise the RCF's are the same as the KV's.

Hi Andy

maybe next time remove your earplugs when you listen to the KV stuff OR better still run KV alongsides the Rcf stuff and then you will hear the difference .

Thats easy for you to say, have you done a direct comparison yourself? I have already A/B'd both cabinets with several dj's & sound tech's present & they also thought the same .Do a direct comparison & come back to me. KV's are very overated & overpriced. It pays to keep an open mind.

Having an rcf rig ( passive ) and a KV rig ( active ) i have done AB comparison testing ( also with martin blackline ) and the KV rig blows away the other two YES they are expensive and an investment but all i will say is WHAT AN INVESTMENT,AWESOME.

Just to be an anorak and boring ..................................................

KV-2 Audio is designed by George Krampera WHO before moving to design KV was the designer for RCF .

If anybody gets the chance to hear the new VHD systems of KV2 then do they are just staggering .

Yes i do know that the KV guy used to work for RCF. RCF as a company have got more infrastructure, to offer better deals whereas KV are a very small market player.

The comparison you talk above is not scientific in the sense you have compared active KV speakers to a passive RCF system. Do a direct comparison like i have & then decide.

Sound is all so personal. :msn-wink:

And with red tape increasing, probably going to be fewer venues / events for the all-rounder mobile DJ to 'crank it up' with the larger speaker systems.

I think the term " small market " player should be retracted , such an extreme statement from someone who doesnt know how they operate and what markets they do.

Do you think that a " small market " player would actually install a rig for such a prestigious event as THE QUEENS 80th Birthday at Balmoral with Catherine Jenkins ................................ KV DID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
