Personal recomendation would be the Behringer EP2500. Has a little more power than you need right now and you may want to consider the EP1500 instead, but for the sake of a few quid, you may as well have soemthing that will allow you to grow. Owner an EP2500 for about 4 years now and it's been bullet proof. Nice sound (although to be fair it only really looks after the bass now), robust and not expensive. Cheapest I could find it woth a quick Google was Thomann: http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_ep2500_...er_endstufe.htm

stevie 0
Ive got a pair of wharfedales the evp15 there great also a pair of peaveys pro 15 cant fault them.I use warrior amps an is1000 and a elite 1k8,ive had the is1000 for 5 years cant fault it its been well gigged bit batterd but never ever let me down even when a band pluged in to my speakers!(thay asked if they could use them but didnt remove my input :aa guess what blew? not the warrior!) Any way in my opinion I cant fault the warriors I mainly use the 1k8 now as it powers the bass bins aswell with ease, money well spent in my opinion. Take a look at why buy new.
Kingy 0
Although I don't use one, the Behringer EP2500 wins my vote purely on build quality. Well built. Reliable amp.
TonyB 0
My first choice would be QSC followed by T-Amp/C-Mark.

deejaymitch 0
Behringer EP2500 What he said  It's my spare now as my speakers have the amp built in, but I used the EP2500 3/4 nights a week for a couple of years and it never let me down. supersound dj 0
Ive heard those amps are pretty good too. Mind you can get a decent QSC amp off ebay for that price or under and they sound sweet and are great workhorses. Edited April 7, 2009 by supersound dj
bigMCben 0
I've had a c-mark mr2350 amp for two years and (touch wood) never had a problem. Jack or XLR inputs, speakon outputs, stereo and bridged modes and has an earth break if you get hum as well as anti-thump protection when you switch it on. I managed to get mine new for £150 although best price I've seen on t'internet is about £190.

Ive heard those amps are pretty good too. Mind you can get a decent QSC amp off ebay for that price or under and they sound sweet and are great workhorses. Indeed. I own a QSC amp which is outstanding with the conventional speakers. The GX5 is ideal for 8 ohm speakers: 400 W - 600 W as the GX Series amplifiers were designed to power 8 or 4 ohm loudspeakers. So maybe a second hand GX5 is worth looking into? Hmmm? OK, time for a hunt on the net! Here is a typical example of a buy it now (new) price via ebay - £459.99 But after a further hunt, I found this one from Digital Village including VAT for £325!!! For this series, they have apparently removed bridge mono mode and 2 ohm operation - features they state that are never used by the majority of amplifier users, thus, the price and weight can be lowered further while still allowing the amp to operate effortlessly into 8 and 4 ohm loads with ample headroom. QSC wise, when you're using loudspeakers with a higher power capacity or more than two 8 ohm loudspeaker per amp channel or more than one 4 ohm loudspeaker per channel, consider the RMX Series or PLX2 Series professional power amplifiers. Digital Village are, in my experience, very helpful. If poss, try before you buy!!! Edited April 8, 2009 by Dukesy

disco4hire 1
The EP2500 gets my vote too for a great budget amp, plus Behringer has a good warranty, from what I've been told any amp returned faulty is swapped for a NEW one. but don't quote me on that Edited April 9, 2009 by disco4hire New Site Clouds Disco

Kingy 0
CV900 - current model ? Just found it for £179.99 at dj kit. I am not sure this is the same quality as Cerwin Vega used to be, the spec is pretty low as is the price...suspiciously so. My guess (as in stanton stuff) is that the "name" has been licenced by an OEM. Perhaps Ken (superstardeejay) has knowledge of this item. Cerwin Vega USED to produce high end quality stuff and at this price, unless they have dropped their margins massively, it seems too much amp for very little money. Ya pays yer money... :cow:
