Just out from Mastermix is their Hi-NRG Grandmaster. What do you think of the content, would you see yourself playing it and what missing that should be on Volume II?

My suggestions are

Hazell Dean - Whatever I Do

Flirtations - Earthquake

Pearly Gates - Action

and possible Evelyn 'Champagne' King - Shame

Don't think Steps should be in it and why West End and not the Weather Girls???

Looks quite good, plenty of memories there!!

Not sure where I personally will play it, but I am sure it has a market.

I've got probably got 8 or 9 of them already, and to be honest I can't remember the last time they were played other than perhaps Dead or Alive and Pointer Sisters.

The London Boys one was a great track in its day, but again isn't really a must have in a lot of applications.

Like Kingy says, its probably worth buying for some markets, but there isn't enough on there to tempt me.

Personally I think that these companies could do a lot worse than release box sets (or similar) of 'key' tracks and best selling popular dancefloor fillers from 2000 - current 2009 as I think this would assist greatly anybody starting out in business and building a collection for use at family type engagements. Most of the 2000+ released material that is available from these companies is usually club / dance / r'n'b type genres or 'mixed' and the only other way to build a usable collection would be to buy all of the series of 'now' CD's which can work out difficult and expensive and usually ends up with lots of pointless fillers too.

For those starting out there are plenty of box sets and Mastermix 'Party' and 'Classic Cuts' in order to build a usuable rock 'n' roll - party collection for most mixed age functions and the usual Wedding Cheese, however getting workable and usable compilations of a similar ilk from the past decade is a little more trickey.

Or maybe its just that nothing has been released in the last 10 years that is worth remembering or is workable :D
