Dukesy 0
Although the BBC have plugged U2 both on TV and radio of late, NME reports that U2's new single 'Magnificent' sold just 4,000 copies in its first week of release, and hobbled into the charts at number 42, giving the band their worst chart performance since 1982. So, does the 'biggest rock band in the world' remain truly 'Magnificent', or are they becoming a tad 'Insignificant'!?

BigBen 0
theres a good chance it will climb in weeks to come with their establihed fanbase. Even as a big fan, I find their latest single quite average. U2 used to make wonderful albums in the 80's - Boy, October, War, Under a Blood Red Sky, Unforgettable Fire, Wide Awake in America (EP), Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum are all superb. Then the 90's and 00's came...Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Pop, All That You Can't Leave Behind, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. I think these are all pants apart from maybe one or two tracks on each album (Vertigo is an amazing song!) but at least they reinvented themselves and tried something different. Returning to their roots and producing average tunes has signalled the true end of U2 for me. Cue the first of their many 'final' stadium tours. Raymilkybarkid 0
This may have something about the bad press Radio 1 has received over the past few months. Radio 1 were slammed for only playing new releases from Coldplay and U2 and out of there playlists both Coldplay and U2 had 8 out of the 24 songs on 3 out of 5 lists that were published. Could this be the buying public getting there own back by boycotting the purchase of the album.
