Dukesy 0
A MAN headbutted a DJ because he was “jealous” of him taking a photo of a woman in a Whitehaven pub, a court has heard. Carl Malcolm Dunn, 25, of Meadow Road, Whitehaven, admitted causing actual bodily harm to Karl Fye and will be sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court on August 7. Stuart Pattinson, prosecuting, said: “Mr Fye works as a DJ at the John Paul Jones Tavern. As well as playing music, he asks people if they want their photo taken. He asked a woman if she wanted her photo taken and she agreed. “Dunn pushed Mr Fye and headbutted him on the nose, causing the victim to stumble backwards.” The court then heard that Mr Fye received a fractured nose, which had to be reset during surgery. Solicitor Ian Nancollis, for Dunn, said: “My client had been out for the day and had been drinking more than he normally would. “Someone had bought him some vodkas, which tipped him over the edge. “It caused him to be jealous when the DJ took the photo of the woman.” He added that his client could not remember the incident at all. dj.silver 0
Oh well that's okay then, he'd been drinking, explains it all. That's a perfectly good reason to head butt somebody, I'd let him off!!! How that bugs me, the 'drinking defence'! Thing is, it doesn't say Dunn even knew the woman! I once read about the evils of heavy drinking ................ so I've stopped reading COPYWIGHT: Elmer Fudd 1956, All wights wesewved.

superstardeejay 0
We had a similar thing a few years ago in a bar, a customer had to be ejected, he was actually a regular and always came over for a chat and offered me drinks, but unfortunately he turned nasty when the manageress shut the bar early because hoardes of football supporters were rampaging in the town. He came back the following week to apologise and saying he'd been on medication and it had reacted with his beer! I don't know about anyone else but I've never had any tendency to turn violent either under the influence of drink and/or medication! I suppose you've either got a streak or you havent. . DJ_Sploits 0
Hi sorry to dig up a post thas over a year old but I have just stumbled across it. The post is about me The woman was supposedly his girlfriend (which I didn't know). I always ask people if they want a picture, if they refuse then I smile and walk away. I asked her and she said yes. Another thing is I actually know Carl. I have know him for the past 20 years. we always got on (not major friends but enough to say hi and ask how each other is doing). Carl then walked over quite calmly and thats when the trouble started. It went to our local magistrates court and ended up in crown court. He got a 6 months suspended sentence, 100 hours community service and had to pay me £2,000 in compensation. My boss (at the time) got him put on pubwatch for 2 years. Thanks to everyone for your comments :dukesy: (even if it is a year too late lol) Karl (DJ Sploits)
