Blyth Radio's Call For Dj's

Recommended Posts

A SUFFOLK radio station is opening its doors and inviting people to hit the airwaves and become a DJ for the day.

Blyth Valley Radio 105fm, which broadcasts from a Second World War bunker at St Felix School, Southwold, is offering adults and children the chance to experiment with equipment, put out their own show and even present the weather.

It is also wants people to get involved on a more regular basis because it is extending its air time to between midday and 6pm seven days a week.

The station, which broadcasts across Southwold, Reydon and the surrounding area including Blythburgh, Walberswick, Wangford and Wrentham, is looking to increase its voluntary workforce and showcase the best up and coming talent the county has to offer.

Amanda Humphrey, Blyth 105 committee member, said: “We have already seen a fantastic response from students who have visited.

“It is an excellent opportunity for people to see how their favourite programmes are made and inspire them to make their own.

“We are looking for people to become involved in all areas - presenting, technical, business, committee and behind the scenes. If you can spare a small amount of time we would love to meet you.”

To arrange a visit or to join the team contact the studio on 01502 723900 or email studio@blythvalleycommunityradio.co.uk.
