They are a well known legend of the music industry! You've not been asked to, but would you play any of their well known tracks from their music repertoire - you just so happen to have in your music library? Personally, I wouldn't. I wouldn't go out of my way to work a track in that I wouldn't normally have played though. Then there is of course if the track was on a play list or a do not play list. He actually asked for a few tracks to be played and they were a mile apart from his type of music but good to dance to. I suppose he was just out for a good time with his friends and did not want to hear his own voice. Funny thing was nobody else asked for one of his tracks either so there you go, and yes I did have one of his hits on a Now album. It made a change for the other star to steal the limelite for a change. But usually I wouldn't unless it was asked for in advance. A very well known Irish singer was staying in the hotel where I have my residency and happened to be in the restaurant while I was playing one of his songs in the bar next door. I didn't even know he was there, I was just playing a song that I play regularly. Anyway, apparently he was outrageed and started complaining to the staff who ran in and advised me that he was there and not to play any more of his songs. Pompous idiot! On another occasion a member of an Irish boyband was in the bar. I really pushed my luck and played a solo cover version he had released (which didn't do very well), and then followed it up with one of his group's big hits. He had a good laugh about it, posed for photos with nearly everyone in the bar, and was back in again the following night. A true gentleman. I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services.
