Ever Seen Anything?

Recommended Posts

Robbie Williams claims to live in a haunted house and reckons that he's seen three UFO's in his lifetime (and he wasn't even high at the time).

So have you ever seen anything strange or unexplained?

Yes...

early '90s, sleeping with my girlfriend in a strange bed after a night out. I had a strange dream a lady standing at the doorway, dressed in Victorian clothes.

In the morning, I turned to gf and said "I had the strangest dream" - and she said "oh, so did I, there was someone standing in the doorway"!!!

She said the lady was dressed in old fashioned clothes.. I'm normally very sceptical - perhaps we watched a TV show ie, period drama, or a film- not sure, I didn't remember anything which would trigger this.

I knew what I'd dreamt of when I woke up - it wasn't similar to Deja vu (interesting memory explaination in wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9j%C3%A0_vu)

So, not sure what it was- too much "K Cider", or we'd both seen adverts for period drama... The house was a 1970's estate..

I'm pretty skeptical about most things like this - so put it down to something we'd seen (old photo, film advert etc)

Don't believe much beyond the physical...

However, happy to believe in the possibility of UFO/Aliens.

When i was young i dabbled with the ouja board - weird, unexplained things happened in front of my eyes which i still can't figure out.

However after watching 500+ episodes of Most haunted (my wife is a big fan) - With all the technology and the most haunted places in the uk being visited, i am yet to see an actual ghost.

So i don't believe in ghosts (as in the white ghouly figure) but i do believe that there is a supernatural force be it good or bad, i don't know.

I have never seen a UFO, however i have never been to any of the following places

- A dark and misty moor

- Near a military airbase (weird that!)

- In a Desert

- Usually America

Once travelled the length of the country to see a girl whom i'd met a a local function. she was a vicars daughter but was no angel and invited me to milton keynes for what i thought was a :joe: weekend.

I had some background info on who she was who she lived with etc but was totally freaked within hours of arriving. On the evening a buch of strange looking people arrived (owner of the housewas the weirdest person i had ever seen) I was asked to change into a white robe with no other clothing allowed. An altar was set up in the living room and i remember sobbing to myself thinking i something sinister was going to happen to me. It turned out they were white witches and i was to be part of a witches circle

All that i can say is, that evening is by far one of the most influencing experiences i have ever had. Even today i cannot describe or begin explain what happened during the evening even though my memories are as clear as ever. I left milton keynes a different person with a different view on all things paranormal etc.

seriously this is no joke and talking about it after almost 20 years still brings out some strange emotions.

Well..........

I am prepared to believe in "the beyond" but still need convincing, however I have had the following experiences:

I used to be the Maintenance manager at large department store in Ipswich and the job used to keep me on site until all sorts of bizarre hours. The building itself was built in the early 90's on the site of an old Monastery (an archeological dig etc was carried out before building started). I would regularly see shadows moving across the floors and often had the feeling of being watched. I also used to find dirty footprints in the carpets that were well away from the doors, and would vanish by themselves.

Other people who worked there also used to report "odd" things going on.

On returning home from a fishing trip to Shingle Street, the journey took me past the air base at Woodbridge - famous for the UFO encounter in the 80's. As I drove along the road towards home I saw a red globe in the sky that seemed to follow the car along the road until I was just past the base, then it disappeared.

On holiday in Nottingham (I know, it's an odd place to take a holiday) we (the family) stayed in a cottage on a farm. As soon as we walked in I was uneasy.

Every night I felt as if there was something else there with us (and some entries in the visitors book hinted at that as well), and one night when I was making drinks on my own in the kitchen I had a very hiss noise made close behind me, I checked but found no one.

After we returned home even the wife said she had felt uneasy there, which is strange because she doesn't usually feel anything !!!

Anyway, enough of my reminiscing,

I 100% believe in the paranormal.

When I was very young I lived in a 3 story town house in Northolt Middlesex with mum, dad and sister.

There were lots of strange things goings on which we couldn’t explain such as lights shades that were originally screwed to the sealing had started to unscrew in front of my dads eyes on their own, my mums old collection of thimbles being thrown down the stairs, and during the middle of the night all the pots and pans were taken out of the cupboard down stairs in the kitchen and scattered all around the floor.

My clearest memory was going down stairs to the kitchen one night to get a drink and before I managed to switch the light on I noticed an old lady sitting at the foot of the stairs, she was wearing a long black dress but had bright grey hair, and the spookiest thing was that she smiled at me (True) I remember screaming, with that my mum running down stairs turning the light on and not seeing anything.

To this day I can still remember the old lady and all the joining houses on the street also had strange happenings. I could go on forever speaking about all the strange goings on but too many to write about.

In the end my mum and dad called a vicar to bless the house, which seem to work. :(

UFO's are real, just because of the name, ie they haven't been identified.

As for alien space craft, I'm open minded, space after all is vast possibly infinite, I believe there must be other life forms, quite possibly much more intelligent than us (definitely more intelligent than me LOL).

Ghost's, well I don't believe in them as such. With all the technology we have, we have never been able to prove they exist, what makes me laugh is that for hundreds of years the photographic "proof" of ghosts is a transparent human figure, all of a sudden with the advent of digital photography and CCTV they have now changed form and are "orbs" :joe:

I'm a very logical person that relies on proof to convince me something is real, without proof I don't think they exist.

There again, I pray to God at night before I go to sleep, go figure.

I still consider myself to be on the fence in relation to believing that ghosts still walk the earth. Although something did happen once.....

I was once asked by a friend who was employed as a Gamekeeper & handyman at a large manor house and estate, to help him to rewire a couple of properties on the site. The grounds were huge and consisted of a very old 3 storey manor house which was privately owned by an elderly couple, who were away on a winter holiday at the time. Also in the grounds were several cottages which were used by the present staff, and also 3 converted barns, which were rented out during the summer months to holidaymakers.

We were working in one of the converted barns, which was two storey and entirely open plan on both floors, with a large ceiling, original oak beams and a balcony which ran all around the room. The only way up to the second floor & its balcony was by a wooden staircase leading off the ground floor lounge / kitchen, which I was sitting at the bottom of in order to fix a socket to the wall.

My friend went off into town to get some electrical stuff, whilst I stayed behind to start running the cables. About 10 minutes later I suddenly felt a presence and as if somebody was watching me. I looked behind me but saw nothing, and carried on working, but the presence was still there, somebody was definitely watching.

I drilled a few holes, and just as the drill was spinning down to a stop, I thought I heard a stifled giggle from just above me. I looked up and scanned the second floor, and saw a young woman leaning over the balcony, she was looking directly at me and looked to be in her very early 20's and dressed in what looked to be the very old fashioned black and white frilly outfit of a maid.

Thinking it was one of the staff, I jokingly remarked, about what how long it took to get a brew around here, and asked whether she had put the kettle on yet, and was there any chance of putting a dash of whisky in it for the fright that she had given me. She didn't reply or change her expression, just seemed to look straight through me.

I thought she was just being either shy or just ignorant and muttered something under my breath as I turned back to my work, when I looked up again, she had gone. I didn't even bother to think at the time about where she had gone to, because the upstairs was all open with no rooms as such, and I was sat on the stairway blocking the only way up / down.

Some time later my friend returned, and I commented on how good it was that the staff joined in and dressed up in period character outfits for the benefit of the tourists, but how they could be more friendlier and at least continue a conversation. He looked back at me with a puzzled 'what the hell are you talking about look'

He went on to tell me that the staff were all away for the holidays, and the grounds were empty apart from himself and a caretaker who lived at the lodge at the bottom of the long winding drive, and besides non of the staff would ever dress up in old fashioned outfits as they were mainly young student types working there over the summer.

He did tell me later, that several sightings of ghosts of a young couple had been seen by various visitors, the staff and even the owners over the years. The building has a lot of history, dating right back to the days when it was the village manor house and the fields were worked in by the villagers.

The story is that there was once a young girl and a young man employed in service there, and who eventually fell in love. One evening the young girl was found murdered on the river bank at the far end of the grounds. All of the villagers immediately suspected the young man, and set out in a vigilante group to track him down and extract revenge. The young man, blinded by grief and in fright was eventually cornered by the crowd in one of the old barns, when they broke the door down, they found that he had hung himself from one of the old beams.

Now, both of these young people are said to be amongst the ghosts which haunt the hall and its grounds, and it was supposedly the serving girl who I had seen, who was visiting the barn in which her boyfriend had hung himself many centuries before.

He even went on to admit that part of the reason we were rewring the place, was because of the number of unexplained electrical faults, from bulbs blowing almost weekly, to the large number of TV sets they'd got through.

There are lots of ghosts and folklore in this area, and nearly all of the old buildings have their own little charming ghost stories and tales, and I still think that was all it was - a nice little story for a cold winters' night over a pint in the pub.

However, the fact remains, I did see SOMETHING or rather SomeONE, and I cannot deny that. I just refuse to believe that it was a ghost :D

The magician James Randi has been offering $1m for the last 3 decades to anyone who can demonstrate paranormal abilities in front of an independent panel of judges. Dozens have tried and all failed. Other people and institutes in other countries have similar offers and nothing ever comes of it. If these girls really can do what you say then a fortune awaits them :D

I think I saw the inside of Dans wallet once..... :D

Nik

Now that would be a supernatural experience.

I've seen and experienced things over the years that I can't explain. I don't feel qualified to say that I have seen an alien craft, or wandering souls...but I've seen things.

Would I like to see something out of the ordinary? Sure!

About 4yrs ago my very normal wife of 25yrs was diagnosed with arthritis of the knee, she was told she would need to have her joint replaced but was too young. She was in an awful lot of pain and the drugs had little affect so she was persuaded by my sister-in-law to have a course of Reiki treatment, after two treatments she started to hear and see spirits. Since then She has spoken to some of my dead relatives and told me things she couldn't possibly know. Until something strange like this happens to you, you won't belive it. ( and her arthritis has disappeared) freaky or what !!!!

Sometimes we can forget that, in the grand scheme of things, we are tiny meaningless specks who only exist for a relatively short time and make little or no impact, universally speaking. There are a lot of things that mankind will never understand or be able to explain. So I'm never quick to believe in something incredulous, but never dismiss it anything out of hand either.

I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. Including club residencies, karaoke, pub quizzes, specialised wedding service, Master of Ceremonies, Compere, Night at the Races and much more.

I suggest anyone or anyone who knows someone who can speak to the dead get in contact with this group. Or, if you need some cash, James Randi, the man offering $1m to those who can display paranormal abilities.

are you suggesting that the world does't actually evolve around us and that we see ourselves far more superior and important than even the greastest of beings to bless this earth, factual or fictional......like Einstein, Jesus, Shakespear, Santa Clause & Liam Gallagher....That would be silly!

It was only last night i encountered a strange phonemenon. I was walking home which is usually a 10 jaunt but it seemed to take forever, the pavement was moving, lights were dazzling. next thing i woke up this morning with a minor headache struggling to remember last night in detail.......The John Smith Phonemenon has struck once again.
