McCardle 1
Had a 50th birthday at a Masonic hall, the guests were mostly aged 45+ and it was largely a 70's and 80's theme, which did go down pretty well. Had some issues with a heated hostess trolley which the caterers had plugged into sockets next to the stage. First of all, the trolley was tripping the mains randomly ;thumbdown: even before we had plugged in, the staff had reset the distribution board twice. I wonder when it was last PAT tested..... Finally they agreed to move it onto another ring main, and the tripping no longer affected us. It did however make an annoying fast clicking noise audible through both the venue background system and also our the P.A whilst it was running, I guessed it used some kind of fast pulsed burst fire method of maintaining the cabinet temperature, which was causing interference. Was very relieved when they unplugged it. Other than that, a reasonable night, even the climb up / down one and a half flights of stairs to the function room was worth it.
