Norfolk DJ 0
Thinking about changing my Numark CM 100 after 3 years of use, and wanted something a little bit better. Not keen spending £400 on a denon mixer though. Any ideas?

spinner 0
What is the quality of the Omnitronic like ? any good ? Can't speak from experience but probably as good as Citronic (all made in China). Terralec stock the ones mentioned but Premier-Solutions (owned, I think, by NJD) are official UK distributors for the brand, which is German (the name if not the origin). bigMCben 0
Would a second-hand Denon X500 be any use. I've got one and the flexibility and features on it mean I've never been stuck. Denon X500
superstardeejay 0
Premier-Solutions (owned, I think, by NJD) Premier Solutions is the company set up by Kevin Hopcroft, (NJD founder and MD) after he sold NJD to Electrovision. I'd go for a second hand denon as well! You can even replace worn faders yourself as and when. PS That link of Ben's shows a DNX050 which is a mini mixer. Go for a 500 or a 400 at a push. spinner 0
The denon is an excellent mixer. However the others mentioned all have two XLR/Jack mic inputs on the faceplate, a feature yet to appear on any Denon rackmount mixer.
superstardeejay 0
The X500 has one on top and one on the back, this annoyed me at a former residency so I arrived early one night and fitted an extra XLR at the side of the console in a little box and wired it at the rear jack Anyone thinking of splashing out on (say) a Denon mixer should go and actually feel one on demo. Go and pick it up, feel the weight, feel the faders, press the buttons...then do the same with a chinese one. Edited September 21, 2009 by superstardeejay .

Great mixer, never had a problem (as I touch wood)... Steve 5 European cups and 18 leagues, that`s what we call history.

Do you think it would be practical to somehow mount a socket on a Denon faceplate for that purpose?

I would say they're pretty crammed under there and I doubt there'd be room. Could it be mounted on a blank rack plate above the mixer? .
spinner 0
Bit Smashey & Nicey, that! Intriguing how things are perceived. I think a hand held mic. looks a bit cheesey. On a more practical note, a gooseneck makes things much easier, especially if I'm using two decks at once. I would say they're pretty crammed under there and I doubt there'd be room. Could it be mounted on a blank rack plate above the mixer? Excellent idea. Unfortunately I don't have even a half U of space spare in my rack. Something to think about though when I change my gear around. Better yet, why don't I just get an A&H Xone S2? Edited September 22, 2009 by superstardeejay
