vokf 0
Nothing for me until 31st. Probably using the weekend to prepare, I do need to check out the Pubs Video system, and so will probably pop over and run a few tests. Jason

deejaymitch 0
Well it's finally happened. I'm going to miss my residency on Saturday due to illness. I went in last Saturday against everyone's advice and unfortunately I'm worse than ever now. I have got the night covered but I still have an incredible sense of guilt even though few people will miss me at all, and they'll get over it very quickly. I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. Including club residencies, karaoke, pub quizzes, specialised wedding service, Master of Ceremonies, Compere, Night at the Races and much more.
gadget 0
Mad wekeend coming up.. DJing Saturday night in Blackpool Pleasure Beach for a conference for about 3 hours.. after a Magician has done his bit(!) I have no idea if any DJ equipment is there already - So will be using my own - I do know that it already has a thumping sound system which I'm plugging into, No lights required cos they've got their own (and their techie who *has* to be onsite will hopefully do that job :) Nervous? Yes, cos I know about 75% of the people going... and their music tastes potentially vary a lot ! Slight twist through tomorrow night because song requests will be requested via the power of twitter :funjokeandlaugh: Sunday, taking two eldest two to Alton Towers... which shuts at 9pm.. Thursday 22nd is a Halloween family disco.. currently 180 tickets are sold out of possible 250.. For this I'm going to string DMX cable around the outside of the room and see how good/bad the uplighting is with the led par cans around the edge... I've got a feeling they'll be not quite bright enough.. Total DMX cable length reaching 85 meters ! Norfolk DJ 0
40th birthday party for me on saturday
MintyDave 0
Bit of a strange one on saturday night. an 88 year old disabled bloke pulled up outside a local party gear shop in his wheelchair and shouted thrugh the door he needed soome ballons etc and a Dj. I got a call to ring him. The conversatin went "how much do you charge" (knowing the venue and time i stated £xxx) "thats fine he said see you there and hung up" Spoke to the venue and he had pulled up outside and shouted throught the door "im having a party and everybody will want feeding" gave them the date and was off, the bar maid had to chase him down the road to find out more. So im going with an open mind tonight! Fortunately its local and i had no other enquiries. MintyDave 0
So it wasn't Andy Pipkin wearing a mask then?! :funjokeandlaugh: more like stephen hawkins Bless the old soul......invited about 80 peope and only 25 turned up most of who had a free drink and bite to eat then left. I was left playing background music for 3 hours. The funny thing was is that he had a helium balloon tied to the back of his electric wheelchair and i was in the venues booth. from my sitting position all i could see was this balloon flying about the room with the ocassional sound of a chair being knocked over. He went round in circles on the dance floor for quite a while, which was funny. gadget 0
Well the Paradise Room at Blackpool Pleasure Beach was... interesting.. I Setup on the stage with backup mixer (CM-203) and radio Mic due to transportation issues!). Not quite sure how long ago the venue was refurbed, but there wasn't a DJ Booth anymore, just a place at the back of the room for the sound & lighting control desks. Was given a couple of XLR leads to plug into. The Magician before me was just awesome... its pretty hard to top that off! Only DJ'd for just over 2 hours, cos didn't get back from Dinner until about 7.30 and Magician was on at 8.00 ish for a good 45 minutes..! Started off with Little Boots - Remedy (couldnt really start with anything else really as she is from Blackpool. Threw on some cheese. Was challenged to find something even more cheesier (The Wurzels was requested!), then some random disco tracks, some other requests, and then some indie and then finished off on G'n'R Paradise City! Not many danced at all, but most enjoyed it. Missed last train back (whoops). So now staying over at a friends house for the night in Preston. Wife aint to happy tho (and I am in the doghouse)!! The sound system didn't sound that good imho (was d & b), and the monitors were really crackly (and also distracting). Dont think there were any subs either which would have made it sound a bit better.. Anyway, better get some rest here as have stupid journey back tomorrow, and also supposed to be taking the Kids to Alton Towers for the day...
