dj_dash 0
The oh-so-popular LED star cloth? Some retro light screens? Sweet bugger all...? I personally am wanting rid of my big bulky light screen, as funky as it is. Have no idea what to replace it with though; played a gig recently without it, and obviously there was just a big pile of cables in clear view under the table - not so attractive. I see a lot of LED star cloths, and am very tempted, but would appreciate feedback on whether they're really worth the 120 squid. And for those who have neither, how do you keep the masses of cable out of sight? Answers on a postcard =) cheers.

stoke53 0
Ive got the NJD starcloth not what i want but its better than the lightcabs and the shiny polycotton starcloths as the NJD is serge wool well made and comes with a good controller with lots of variation. Dream Catchers 0
I use a custom star booth similar to the S+H that Steve (Spinner) uses. My brother did all the framework for it. If you want to go down the booth route I can highly recommend the one that has been designed for DJ@ as seen here. It is custom made by Savill Cases who are happy to build any custom case to your specs. Jim Edited November 17, 2009 by Dream Catchers

Teez 0
Just took delivery of my starcloth bought on Ebay for about £80. Difference is that it's a multi colour one and looks better than the £100+ white ones through the dealers. Must admit it looks really good. A guy in Merthyr Tydfil makes them but I did have to wait 2 weeks to ship and some emails were ignored. I know it's a bit bedroom DJ'ish but also bought (off Ebay) for small pub gigs a couple of new Soundlab LED Disco Mobile Lighting Light Boxes for £110 the pair delivered Teez :tree:
gadget 0
Just a plain black cloth for me round my 4" giraffe stand. Nothing exciting i'm afraid. Just a plain black table cloth here - that goes quite well over most tables and hides the crap. Nowt worse than a load of cables on display... Bouncy Dancefloor 0
i have a couple of the ebay ones, the girl makes them herself they always go on ebay at no reserve, so sometimes you can get a real bargain i have 2, one is black cloth with pink led's, i use this for most gigs the other is white cloth with white leds, which looks great in posh venues i paid £38 for the pink one and £42 for the white one im trying to get another pink one cheap for the 3rd show, but no cheap ones at the moment! Raymilkybarkid 0
Usually people dancing....... :funjokeandlaugh: Joking aside I use either Light Screens / Starcloth or open plan ( DJ at the edge of the dance floor) Depending on the show type in use. Open plan only really looks presentable if you are using active speakers or can move the amps out of the way otherwise you would have cables trailing all over the place. Starcloth on the deck stand looks good. (I use a Fibre Optic Cloth). The DJ last weekends function that I attended as a guest used nothing but a table to put his laptop / CD Decks and looked dreadful with cables all over the place. Paul Ireland 0
I've got this http://www.thomann.de/ie/skb_skb_gigrig_14...p6_he_front.htm and at the front I've made a holder for a banner which screws onto the front of the rig and has my name, phone number and website. I'll get a photo the next time I've got it out. Looks very neat and takes up little room. All the leads bundle in under it too. www.limerickdj.com
