Dukesy 0
i am struggling to get any bookings any help would be appriciated. Can't remember where this work related 'saying' comes from, but it sums up pretty much the state of play: "When the 'fat of the land' is gone, what may be left is the scraps, if you are lucky!" It's a fact that some areas will be affected more than others with regards to lack of work. With accessibility to DJ'ing now easier than ever before, you will find that there will be lots of 'DJs' accepting all sorts of fees - just to turn an extra pound. I live in Derbyshire and the number of 'DJs' who have 'suddenly appeared' on the scene is much, much higher than a few years ago! The following are only tips, and a few at that! There are all sorts of marketing tips that might be right or actually inappropriate for your business, so you may have to adapt and mould to suit, but do persevere. Try not to become complacent - set yourself a small goal everyday and remain positive in your endeavours. Here are five things you can do from today. : 1) Read the FREE marketing tips in the DJU Knowledgebase here and on the online based DJ Association (DJ Associates) website here. 2) If you have a links page on your website, why not add a reciprocal link to the DJU community and benefit from the rank popularity?! Add a DJU member banner - here! Also, place a link in your signature so that everytime you post on the forum in the public areas, the 'Search Engine Spider Bots' find your content! 3) Read this article on the DJ Associates website. 4) If you have a paid for listing on listing directories and are not receiving enquiries, then consider joining a specialist website (DJ orientated) this listing directory and add AS MUCH CONTENT AS POSSIBLE about your unique disco business, not just something like Mobile Disco Staffordshire. 5) Join a listing site such as GOODPARTY that provides leads - essentially, you will be competing with others in attempting to secure a booking (which ultimately drives down the quality of the leads) but many DJs have reported securing a gig. Gary (GDK) 0
It also depends on what type of work you want to where you advertise. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the forum. Why not Introduce Yourself in the appropriate forum here. Bouncy Dancefloor 0
why advertise? go out there and get the work yourself im fulltime and if work is quiet, i put my suit on and start door knocking venues, most have residents, but maybe 1 in ten have just taken over the venue or are just unhappy with the service they are getting
