bigMCben 0
I received the light on Friday and used it on Friday and Saturday nights. My initial thoughts are: Positives It's quite heavy compared to my other lights (Dynarock, Revo III) but when you think that's it's six scanners in one, it's not excessive. It is quite big and on Saturday I had to reassess where I was going to place it on my goalpost as I wanted to put it above the bar but the ceiling was too low, so I had to place it under the bar and it then intruded into 'my space'. I think I'm going to get a back-to-front hole drilled into the bar so that I have the option of placing it to the front of the bar which will sit halfway between too high and too low. The built-in programs and sound to light are impressive. It seems bright enough in the two pubs I was working in. The pub's lights were dimmed but it wasn't in complete darkness. The moving mirrors mean that the lights will catch your eye as they're sweeping so it works fine without smoke but it obviously benefits from smoke/haze but a lack of smoke/haze is not as noticeable as say a twinkle laser or moonflower. Negatives As with my Revo III, and I suspect all ADJ products, if I have it on Show 1 for example and I wish to change it to Show 2, I have to through the menu of Addr, Blnd, Show before I can change it from 1 to 2 and while I'm doing this the light stops working. I would prefer the option to change shows without having to go through this menu selection or if you do, the light continues to work whilst your doing it. This might not be an issue when using the handheld controller but I don't have one so that might be a requirement that you could benefit from. That's about it. I would say that it's a very good effect and a centrepiece in a light display which really has to be on a goalpost or stand, and it would also make a good fixed effect in a venue and it works adequately WITHOUT smoke, although it's better with it. superstardeejay 0
For anyone who hasn't seen one, this is it, it's a compact LED version of larger centrepieces such as the TAS Synchro, Griven Cyclope, etc. http://www.soundshop.no/images/adj_nucleus_led.jpg .
