vokf 0
What are you up to? Has anyone cracked open their box of Christmas classics? Nothing for me this weekend, we're off to collect some scanners (DynaTwins), and then on to Carmens mum in Swanage. Last night we checked out a local venue for a Ruby Wedding next Saturday. Upstairs :damn: , but its about 2miles away and its open all day. If you take any photos, please try to post some piccies or tell us how it went. I enjoy hearing how other gigs go - and the problems we face and hopefully overcome! Have a good one! Jason

deejaymitch 0
Did an engagement party last night, took a LOOOOONG time to get them going but eventually they went nuts for some 90s dance *Wamdue Projesct, JX, Alice Deejay etc), so it went OK in the end. Residency tonight where I might just keep that theme going. I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. Over 50 Girls from the local girls school - Not 1 single boy apart from my 7 year old who had his 1st roadie job and Loved it!! :bloodyhell: Exactly the sort of gig that would have got me in a lot of trouble in my younger days!!! Anyway, residency went pretty well tonight, being 'tipsy' definitely helped. Time for bed though. I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. MintyDave 0
Did a 16th last night with karaoke. Teenagers are fickle things they either dance all night or sit on their backsides all night. They sung a few tunes and being a youth worker & working in a school i was full of confidence on the mic having a laugh with the crowd however they chose to sit all night only really bothering with cha cha slide, macarena & saturday night. playlist to be posted asap. Liscio 0
Did a 21st last night at a local CIU club. Went well, about 70 people and dancefloor full from 10-12, after one of her friends did a session on his guitar and sung (very well actually) so that broke up the night very nicely :) And the Entertainment guy there hunted me down and got my number, wants to book me for next year so all in all it went very well! Gary (GDK) 0
Posted Saturdays night playlist. Well what a pub. Some of the older women (50+) usually have self respect for themselves but anything goes in this place! DJ Dave Ireland 0
Posted Saturdays night playlist. Well what a pub. Some of the older women (50+) usually have self respect for themselves but anything goes in this place! Gary Had a 40th, about 80 people Sat night just gone. Was all ready for 70/80's but the majority of the crowd was young and ended up playing a lot of dance tunes to keep them going. Got a few party songs in but chart controlled really. Bad Boys.....that song!! I took some abuse about playing songs that were during the mean but some people just dont get it at all. I always build it up gradually and during the meal, laid back songs. Then I kick in but people are very frustrating during or before the meal. I will go hell for leather next time around so there's no excuses. Overall it was a good night and finished strong, 30 mins over the time. Even played DJ Sammy. :damn:
Chris J 0
Friday night - Have a residency via an agent in a posh restaurant in the city (London), only problem is the management. They want to make money and have a good Friday night but they don't advertise even though they have flyers :lame: Music is Hed Kandi based although I'll play to the crowd, whoever's there, in the style they want so anything goes really. Unfortunately another boring one ;thumbdown: Saturday night - 18th Birthday, twin girls. Was a good night even though the fuse / trip switch went 5 times  I've never had that happen before. Anyway the crowd was superb and kept going despite the interruptions. Music was chart, party, some grime and a tiny bit of D'n'B. They sang along to quite a few tunes which made it a fun night. Tunes played: Baby Got Back :joe: , Saturday Night, Slam, Bad Boy and She Wolf among others  Chris
Gary (GDK) 0
Can't stand She Wolf! Played it on Friday night after being requested during background music. Played it and it killed my dancefloor! GDK Entertainments Raising The Standards In Entertainment M 0783 529 5169 E info@gdkentertainments.co.uk
Dream Catchers 0
even though the fuse / trip switch went 5 times What was the problem and did you get it fixed? Jim
Chris J 0
What was the problem and did you get it fixed? Jim The trip switch overheated, must have been the current draw from my system. The hall manager seemed to think something else was connected to the ring but I couldn't find anything. I ended up running just the sound system even though I tried running the lights from a separate socket, there was only one socket by me and another one the other side of the hall!!!! Like I said, it was the first time it has ever happened to me, and the thermal cut out switch on the 4 way gang didn't activate so I can only assume a low amperage trip switch on their fuse board. Chris J 0
Found out there was a short behind the bar which was amplified with my current draw. At least I wasn't to blame, although I knew this to start with.
