vokf 0
We did a quick Time-Lapse video of a Christmas Party Set-up on Sunday; O_4RHhye58o Any opinions on the set-up? Lowish ceiling (7' - so couldn't use goalpost overhead) meant we needed the lights at the front (as opposed to behind us). There was lots of room behind us, but I didn't want people dancing on the stage - not THAT much room! One of the guests was a Mobile DJ, and we had a good chat about kit/music. He did mainly Youth Club gigs, but was taken by the small diffraction laser and lights. I mentioned the forum, so he may signup... Jason

We unloaded the car first, but it still took a while longer than normal, not sure why -but there is quite a bit to do.. Jason 60 mins is the average i work on , i cant seem to get lower than that ..i take x amount lugging from the car , put sound and light set up and safety checks always seem to end up 60 mins , i would love to get this to 30 mins and i have a few ideas how to but it will need heavy financial investment for me to do that. my friend has a big van and he has manufactured what he calls Chariots for his t bars the lights are pre wired and connected up and rest on these chariots when he transports them , when he gets to the venue he just lifts then out of the chariots and plonks them all made up onto the tripod bases , as he uses only two diffraction lasers and two small light led lights this works really well for him and is light enough to do..I dont have a big enough van or the skills to make these chariots lol i think the time lapse idea is very good for showing what your set up looks like and whats involved for the customer to see. great idea matey Rob Star EntertainmentsFacebook pagelandline 0161 265 3421Mobile: 0777 99 777

Stairs seem to add a lot of time to the mix too.. I can do it in about an hour to hour and 15... depending on number of t-bars and number of dmx leads I have to run :/ DJ David Graham Tel: 01204 537716 / 01942 418415 Email: hello@djgraham.co.uk FB: http://facebook.com/djdavidgraham Web: [under construction - it really is coming soon :)]
MintyDave 0
You really need to get out more Jason. Love the vid especially the music. Loving the par cans? as i have said before i have a 'coffin' in my citroen dispatch with the overhead off a 4' giraffe stand (shortened slightly) with 3 lights hard wired with dmx ready to go. just 1 long iec lead and they are up and running. add 2 lights with ease as the wiring is there ready to go. its a bit heavy and you need to be tall but shaves 15-20 mins off setup and the wiring is very neat. Im thinking of a smaller van next time and having 1t bar with symetrical lighting for my usual venues and using the led par cans more. Nice! Carmen 0
How do you make a time lapse video ? My DSLR has a "interval timer shooting" mode, which means I can set it to take shots every XXX minutes for however long I like (or however long the battery lasts - indefinitely if I had a mains adaptor!). So for this I put it on a tripod and set it to take a shot every 15 seconds. I did make a few mistakes in setting the camera up as I had it set on autofocus and you can see the camera zooms in and out slightly as it refocuses for each shot - I should have left it on manual focus and just focused for the first shot. Also I forgot to do the maths and had it set to take 60 shots which only lasted 15 minutes so I had to go back and reset the camera when I noticed it'd stopped taking pictures. In all I think there were about 140 pictures in the sequence. I then put them all into Windows movie maker at a rate of about 4-5 frames a second and added the music. Jason (Vokf) did the rest. :xmas: Edited December 22, 2009 by Carmen

Raymilkybarkid 0
Looks good. Great Idea for the time lapse video nice touch. Setting up the retro show should be interesting for me as it could take upto 2 1/2 hours.
