Welcome!

I am very new to the site as well. I basically do the same type of gigs you seem to work (i.e. parties/weddings/etc.)

I love music and have tons from all eras. Doing weddings you'll find you will have to have 50's through 90's.............and even the newest stuff. There is always something good from each era that will make someone happy.

There are tons of great dance tunes that you can mix it up. I defintely try and go for a few songs at a time from each era. If you see that you are packing the floor then go for a couple more.

I also find that if you do clear the floor - a slow song is always a good way to get them back on. Once you have them back - throw in something like "Love Shack" that everyone seems to love to get them going again.

And most of all - be polite! Don't get mad at the crowd. Sometimes they just don't want to dance. As aggravating as it can be to see a bare dance floor - it does not necessarily mean they think you suck!

Andre
