Back in Cheshunt Golf Club. reading my notes from our meeting; Rock Music will go down well (Kasabian, Chelsea Dagger, and classics) Party Mix – 60s/70s/80 etc. Not keen on much modern, and no heavy RnB/Rap etc Apparently 150-250... can't see it as the venue isn't that big! so, standing room only! should be a good one, and only 10mins from home (or 30mins if via grub...). Out tonight, watching a Soul band in my local pub. Good music, and normally a good night! Sunday - Face to Face meet for a Wedding at end of may. MintyDave 0 Posted March 19, 2010 Report Share Posted March 19, 2010 Well i did have a pub karaoke night booked but some cantankerous old so-and-so manage to get the pubs entertainments licence revoked - he has some sort of title and there is suspicion he may know the right people. they apparently dont want a pub next door (why did they move there???) and have no regard about the local economy, jobs, the community etc - they just want their own peaceful little retirement village. if i ever do get chance to go i think the full 1400w pa system may be required. so its a weekend of major DIY and my back is aching already. deejaymitch 0 Posted March 20, 2010 Report Share Posted March 20, 2010 Last night was a post-Cheltenham Gold Cup karaoke disco in a local pub with a big racing crowd. Was a good night, great fun. Tonight is back to the residency, no idea what to expect, but fingers crossed for a good one. Tomorrow is a free karaoke disco after a charity football match for Sport Relief. A busy weekend but with one heavily reduced gig, one residency which isn't as lucrative as a private booking, and one freebie, I'm working more for the enjoyment this week than the money. Yesterday was fantastic, and could not have been more different from Saturday night. Playing for free to a receptive, responsive crowd was infinitely more enjoyable than getting paid to play to an ignorant, ungrateful one. I played on for an extra 2 hours and would happily have played all night if we hadn't been kicked out!!! I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. Robster 0 Posted March 22, 2010 Report Share Posted March 22, 2010 I got asked last minute to cover a DJ friends, DJ friend on Saturday , my mate does the Friday his mate does the Saturday , the landlord asked me to do regular Sunday afternoons 4-8pm after the gig ..so I must have been OK , I rang my mate and his mate and asked if they had any objections as i don't nick gigs or step on others toes .They don't want to do Sundays so it looks like i have another regular spot. I average 1 christening a month and although this gig is not very good pay it will be regular work and four vs one will mean more monthly income .So over all things are looking up even more!
