Rivervale Barn, Yateley, Hampshire

Recommended Posts

I played in this new venue in early March 2010.

The Barn is a purpose built, new wedding venue.

There are 3 main areas;

-Ceremony Hall

-Dining Area

-Reception Area

On their website, it looks as if these are all separate barns, but they are not.

I've sketched a rough layout..

There IS a sound level monitor in the venue. Luckily, I was running off the unswitched sockets, so was unaffected when the band tripped the system.

The Sound Level monitor is a traffic light system, and was triggered about 3 times during the night.

I was running 2 mackie 450s at reasonable levels, and did not trip the system when I was playing - this included some rock tracks.

If you take subs - you'll need to take care!

The management were easy to work with. I called her mobile on arrival and she quickly came to meet us.

They had reserved a space directly outside the reception area, and there are a few short stairs, or a ramp to get into the barn.

Inside, lots of beams, but no problems with height.

They DO require PLI and PAT, and my DJ@ certificate was accepted.

The venue is down a few country lanes, so watch out if travelling in bad weather.

Otherwise, a nice place to work!
