dj.silver 0
Nice tunes there ... I was a bit before that, more disco stuff. One track that I love but just doesn't cut the mustard on the floor is Crown Heights Affair's You gave me love. Belting track for me and probably ONLY me! http://planetsmilies.net/music-smiley-7528.gif I once read about the evils of heavy drinking ................ so I've stopped reading COPYWIGHT: Elmer Fudd 1956, All wights wesewved. MintyDave 0
great list Ray. I was only 9 years old in 1980 and although i love some funky disco it wasnt my era and i struggle to find whats what. I now relaise that i have many of those tracks but they very rarely get aired as people just dont like straying from the safety of the well known tracks. I like the Crown Affair track DJ Silver but again i doubt it will ever get played. However it's on Classic Cuts Disco and Classic Cuts compilations are usually made up of known floor fillers.

stoke53 0
Yes great tracks if only you could play them today (apart from a specialist night) I remeber them all well and used to love playing them. Alan STROBE DISCO SHOW 01782 713277 07802 489555
funkymook 0
Yes great tracks if only you could play them today (apart from a specialist night) I remeber them all well and used to love playing them. Alan I've found there's usually a few soul boys and girls lurking around at most of the parties I do (not specialist nights, but a lot of 40th birthdays type do's rather than 18th parties). I usually try one or two of the most popular ones to test the water and see who gets up to dance, more often than not I get a good reaction and can play more - there's nothing like 'I Found Lovin' and a full dancefloor! http://www.indieretrodj.com http://www.souldisco.co.uk
Paul The Party DJ 0
there's nothing like 'I Found Lovin' and a full dancefloor! Especially if you've got the bottle to sing the Steve Walsh version over the top if it's going REALLY well! I do a show with a mate on Morpher Radio every week. We get to play all the track we loved from the 70's and 80's with other tunes we think fit. And I have the bottle lol have been doing it for years with my own spin. Had the pleasure to work with the late great Steve Walsh on a Radio London Soul Night Out way back when I was on the Thames Party boats back in the day. Paul The Party DJ 0
The Radio London Soul Nights were great fun - nice one. I could just about pick up Radio London on my car radio in Southampton some days - I was a record company rep at the time (alongside my DJ'ing) and used to listen every day - Tony Blackburn in the morning, Robbie over lunch and into the afternon - then home for a kip before working in the evening ;o) Paul The Party DJ Mobile Disco and Wedding Specialist Southampton & The New Forest
