Teez 0
Just received a mailshot from Terralec and was interested in the Mobile Case at £298 from Cobra http://www.terralec.co.uk/full_flight_and_...se/16702_p.html or even better http://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/music...sp?id=5255-3978 I have a traditional DJ stand and I'm fed up with the assembly and dismantling. Ideally I would like to wheel in my hardware, open up a side table to rest my laptop on and then open up a very light frame round the front onto which I can velcro my starcloth. I don;t want to DIY and the one screen front I've seen is way too expensive. Any ideas? Do any of you use the above? :joe: Edited April 27, 2010 by Teez
DJMickeyk 0
That unit is too heavy and bulky for me, 50kg before you add amps, twin cds & mixer is too much for a mobile DJ, this would be best suited to a venue who wanted to have their own gear, where they could wheel the system around the place. A simple and quick foldaway solution for the mobile DJ would be worth any money, reducing setup time and making life easier is something we would all like in the long run. I have yet to come across something that ticks all the boxes. The traditional deckstand with t-bar and starcloth is hard to beat in terms of looks, but can take some time to set up, would love to see any alternatives that people may know of. www.tipperarypartydj.com

Only down side it weighs a ton!! We no longer do other than ground floor functions unless they have a lift. Very quick to set up. We have two power leads, On for sound, one for lights, plug in the speakers and and away you go.
stoke53 0
Its ok if you can just wheel it in but what about steps bit heavy to carry even up a coupe of steps. Alan STROBE DISCO SHOW 01782 713277 07802 489555

Teez 0
Some helpful comments, thanks folks. I think I will probably go with this one http://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/music...sp?id=4812-2669 I notice the tables are higher than the other model and it's branded Rhino which are OK. I hear you on first floors. So far, I have NEVER done one on a first floor (aren't I lucky!) I guess that's partly to do with being a country Jock. I just need to sort out now how to hang my starcloth as I will probably only set up one side table. This is the sort of solution I was after http://www.jpleisure.co.uk/item3216.htm but it's only for that specific stand. My starcloth is 6' x 4' - anyone know of a pop up frame that would hold that?? Thanks again guys :joe:

Teez 0
No Amps, I'm all active! I think I've sorted my starcloth frame for under £100 http://www.go-displays.co.uk/acatalog/Tabl...rds_91JD12.html Folds into bag provided, the felt and frame can come in black and the starcloth is a tad bigger so wrap it round and just press the velcro! I just need a way to secure the frame to the flightcase system Progress... :joe: Keeps getting cheaper.. http://www.plexdisplay.com/panel-display-s...-kits/pk52.html Edited April 27, 2010 by Teez
Teez 0
Anyone ever considered displaying their front starcloth using a system like this? http://www.plexdisplay.com/images/category_sub/medio_cafebanner_lg.jpg :joe:
