bigMCben 0
As we were having a discussion about the world cup in another thread, I was wondering what your score prediction might be or what you'd like it to be!!!

Raymilkybarkid 0
Don't care who wins. deejaymitch 0
Just for you two im going to play Roxy Music Jealous Guy Jealous? Not at all. I still remember the last competitive game between Northern Ireland and England. To refresh your memory: Based on the English example, I've got at least another 40 years to gloat about this endlessly. bigMCben 0
Maybe we should start another poll on how many times during the world cup will 1966 be mentioned????? Just saw the advert with Terry Venables and Graham Taylor in the old folks home with Kelly Brook as their nurse (wouldn't mind being in a home is she was the nurse, BED BATH MATRON) and Kenny Dalgleish comes in draped in the USA flag. Quite amusing.

(And our goal definitely WAS over the line) Ahem....cough....splutter....weather is a bit poor today Maybe we should start another poll on how many times during the world cup will 1966 be mentioned????? An over hyped, over paid team. We have won more wars than trophies since 1966 and i cant see us winning in the near future. Sad but true! Just seen an advert for and American Anthem CD, nice timing however Whitesnake - Is this love was the first featured track. David Coverdale is from Middlesbrough and the band was formed in The Golden Land (North Yorkshire) In 1977 - wiki! MintyDave 0
Having just re-read this thread i have changed my prediction. After 90 minutes it could be a draw and since there is a fair ammount of Man U players on the field they will add enough time for 1 or 2 goals. maybe the immigration office should rush through citizenship applications for the 2 japanese players that scored for England on Saturday, absolute cracking goals. now if we had a GB team then we would be a force to be reckoned with Richmond Karaoke & Disco - Professional Mobile Disco Service For North Yorkshire - www.rkdisco.co.uk
bigMCben 0
Wouldn't a GB team and an England team be the same???
MintyDave 0
Wouldn't a GB team and an England team be the same??? definately not - im sure our neighbours have some fantastic cheerleaders players Seriously im sure the likes of Keane, Given, Bellamy, would/could of made a big difference along with some popular north of the border players who's names escape me right now. Keane and Given play for the Republic of Ireland and so wouldn't be eligible for a GB or UK team (GB is England, Scotland and Wales; UK is GB and Northern Ireland). I can see the logic behind a combined team though. It's a tragedy that the greatest player of all time, George Best, never graced the World Cup stage. And even more of a tragedy is the fact that Emile Heskey has. I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. bigMCben 0
Well done to the one person who predicted 1-1. Are they brave enough to admit who they are? Edited June 12, 2010 by bigMCben
fester 0
No. :joe: Actually I didn't vote till half time, so I only got it half right I suppose. And seriously, what's with those Vuvuzela horns!!! :toot: It made what was already a frustrating game into something that annoyed the hell out of me. It was like 90 minutes of chinese torture. I totally agree with Fifa and bbc sport, they should be banned. I'm all for a bit of music, trumpets, drums, singing etc but those horns are just noise :djurant: Craig Dance Sounds Disco http://www.discosheffield.co.uk

MintyDave 0
I couldnt hear the horns etc for Kajagoogoo, wham culture club etc etc etc. Some muppet booked an 80's fancy dress theme night for a 30th birthday much to the delight of several guests and the venue staff. In fact about 75% of the guests never turned up and i had no more that 18 people in the venue, which was ironically, a local football club. I could see the action but couldnt hear a darn thing. I almost ran a cable to my mixer so i could listen on the headphones but couldnt find one long enough. England got what they deserved and a certain goal keeper will never live that one down. Nearly as bad as David Seaman - Jump...jump....JUMP.....ooops. Richmond Karaoke & Disco - Professional Mobile Disco Service For North Yorkshire - www.rkdisco.co.uk

He offered 4 tickets to chessington world of adventures for anyone who did it. Seriously annoyng noise... Wonder if some feedback destroyer config /parametric eq could filter them out? David. In fact about 75% of the guests never turned up and i had no more that 18 people in the venue, which was ironically, a local football club. The match didn't stop thousands turning up to the Pink Concert at Reebok Stadium, causing 4 hours+ of queues on the M61 (I can see this motorway from my house).. Also, the stadium is over a mile away as the crow flies, and we could hear the PA from the back garden - in fact I could hear bits in the house with the door closed. (We can see the stadium lights from here too) ! Norfolk DJ 0
Think back to the earlier world cups of 1986 & 1990. We had poor starts in those and went on to do well. First matches mean very little.
deejaymitch 0
Well I went my residency last night a bit early so I could watch the match. I was wearing a fetching Stars & Stripes polo shirt, loudly cheered America, and started my set straight after the match with Born In The USA - Bruce Springsteen and Real American - Rick Derringer (perhaps better known as Hulk Hogan's entrance music). It was a t this point that the bar staff finally pointed out the large group of burly English gentlemen who are staying in the hotel and had been been glaring at me all night. :scared: In fairness, they were a good bunch of lads and we had a laugh. I got a few verbal jibes in over the mic but they laughed along so I rewarded them by playing "Three Lions". I felt dirty afterwards but they went mad for it. One of them also asked me to play "Love Is All Around". He must have known that the opening line "I feel it in my fingers" was bound to result in a Robert Green joke from me. All in all a good night though, and it's always nice to see large groups of football fans with opposing views sharing a drink and a laugh instead of beating 7 shades out of each other.
