deejaymitch 0
Well folks, what's on the agenda this weekend? And will the Algeria match on Friday night affect your functions/resdencies in any way? I'm on double duty in the residency again, so that's Friday and Saturday night sorted, then a crowd of us from my local are off to the Races on Sunday, so that'll be the previous 2 night's wages well invested!!! On that basis alone, song to play is The Gambler - Kenny Rogers! I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. Including club residencies, karaoke, pub quizzes, specialised wedding service, Master of Ceremonies, Compere, Night at the Races and much more.
MintyDave 0
As i have an Indie heavy playlist this weekend i may struggle to play any Kenny Rogers but i will try. 2 gigs on saturday night, A wedding 7.30 to 12 and a 50th Birthday party 7.30 - 12, looks like my dual personality will come in very usefull again. Seriously if i remember rightly MouseAT will be doing his first full gig completely solo on saturday, he usually gets the good ones and think he only managed 10 songs or so on his last outing (supporting a band). See if you can come up with anything horse or gambling related that would fit in then. What about something by John Squire's SeaHORSEs? Love Is The Law was one of theirs iirc. vokf 0
Got a call from my local pub landlord to do a wedding in the pub next Tuesday!!?!?! My local is a "local" so dispute the recent paint-job... its still not that posh... However, I called the "client", who is the sister of the Groom. She wasn't really that bothered, so I called the Groom. He passed me direct to the future Bride.. She also wasn't that bothered (getting the picture now....) apart from wanting a specific Diana Ross song. but couldn't name it. I'm supposed be getting this via text. So... a bit nervous. No contract, no prepayment, no consultation (they don't want to know). However, it is my local.. about 100yds away. Clients are fairly local. I would never take a direct booking like this, all my 2010 bookings have been from discussions and providing what the want - even a kids party meant taking a playlist, and meeting what was needed. All I've got is; -Some club music -Some Diana Ross song (which I suspect is "Endless Love" with Lionel Ritchie..) If its a no-show, I'll know on arrival, so will be a load-up...unload (so no set-up). They'll be there from about 6, and know I can't set-up until 6:30-7 (as I have work). However, I'll do my best and will dress up, and keep optimistic... Club music..erm - she sounded 30ish, so could be a 90's set... or lots of modern MOS stuff. (or just chart pap..) Will try to slip in "the gambler..", will depend....
