Described as 'digital recordable jukebox converts CD to MP3 without the need for a computer' Features USB interface, Optical output & phono in & out. ChrisPointon 0 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Share Posted April 23, 2003 Yes, these have been around for some time and are just basically the full sized version of the little portable ones that are used as personal unts. The main problem with these, is the display, or should I say, lack of display!. Usually this is in the form of a conventional back lit lcd panel with just five or six lines displaying title, artiste, bit rate etc. For personal or BGM applications, then tis usually wouldn't be a problem, but with 1000's of tracks, trying to find one amongst the rest, for a request, or first wedding dance would be a nightmare. If the manufacturers were to offer the flexibility of plugging in a small TFT style monitor, or even build in a 5" colour display then it wouldn't be a problem!. However, as it stands at the moment stick to a laptop, and leave the HD based "Jukeboxes" for home or In Car entertainment!. Link to post Share on other sites

Its Made by Otari yes Otari and not Atari lol, They are v expensive and made really for the music industry!! Its basically a p.c with a TFT monitor and some other other bits but has a massive spectrum analyser slapped on the front and records up to 64 tracks!! As i said its mailnyl for studio use but u never know they might be in development of one for dj use!!
