vokf 0
I've running a Summer Party for the Health Protection Agency -3rd year running. A nice gig, and I've got a few gigs off the back of it in the past. Bad news - its very very cloudy down here, so it may end up being in their Canteen.. So..may be home by 10pm. Saturday, Carmen is performing in a local Show, so I'm going to support and watch (and get Ice Cream and Beer) Sunday... let me see.... Oh yes..! Travelling to Birmingham to meet up for Curry and Beers! Over to you!
DJMickeyk 0
My weekend started wednesday with a Karaoke residency, wedding tonight & Pub residency on Saturday, wedding tonight gave me a request list which I'm a bit worried about, alot of stuff I wouldn't normally play at a wedding, smashing pumpkins radiohead and other alternative type stuff. There will be over 200 people of all ages so I'm not sure if these will work, have permission to use my own judgement if their selection crashes and burns so will definately be announcing over the mic that I'm doing the B & G's selection. www.tipperarypartydj.com
vokf 0
Congrats on the Residency! | had a similar wedding a few weeks ago. If there is any "pop" in the list, get that out of the way first. Those that turned up through politeness will scarper after the 1st dance or so, leaving good friends and family. In my case, I didn't announce the music was the B&G's choice unless someone came up with requests. Word gets around - and I didn't get any grief - but every party is different. Agreed, I just can't see some of their selections working, but after all it's their wedding so will have to try, I have a pdf list of about 120 wedding favourite songs on my website that I ask couple to print out and then highlight the ones they like and send on to me. Idea is that this will guide them and stop people requesting daft music, I always remind couples (nicely) also that their wedding disco should not be used to showcase their own personal taste in music, and that a full floor is the overall aim. I took a saturday night residency until the end of August in a busy pub because to be honest I have very few functions booked between now and then, and a secure gig suits me in the short term. www.tipperarypartydj.com
Carmen 0
Gosh, Radiohead at a wedding. Good luck. I used to listen to radiohead all the time when I was at uni but now I just find it hugely depressing and only to be played when I'm in a sad mood. Definitely highlighting that it's the requested choice of the B+G is the way to go!

All of it is good music don't get me wrong, but not dancefloor music. Will let ye know what happens, friend of mine is coming along as I'm hoping to capture some of it for a website promo video so hopefully I'll have a lively crowd. www.tipperarypartydj.com

deejaymitch 0
Just home from a 50th Birthday party. There's no way to say this without sounding arrogant but I was too good for that crowd. It passed off ok in the end but they seemed determined not to enjoy themselves, and offended at the site of others having a good time. I wore them down in the end, but a great cheesy playlist and an evening of quality entertainment was wasted on that crowd. Residency tomorrow. Song to play: For all the members meeting up for a curry on Sunday (and feeling the effects on Monday morning), it has to be Ring Of Fire - Johnny Cash  I'm a DJ based in Northern Ireland with nearly 10 years' experience offering a range of services. Including club residencies, karaoke, pub quizzes, specialised wedding service, Master of Ceremonies, Compere, Night at the Races and much more.
