Dunno if this has happened to just me or others as well...

For a while this afternoon, when I came on here I couldn't get on. It kept saying I wasn't authorised to view the page I was after. I have my browser set to remember me and log me in when I visit so would have found this weird except I had just installed a plugin for my browser so thought that may have changed something.

Kept trying to login with no success.

Attempted to change my password but it said I wasn't authorised to view that page either.

Gave up, just come back and it's working fine.

I'm all confused!

I see :D

First of all, if these type of services block cookie data from being sent to your browser then you are probably going to find yourself logged out and having to log in again everytime you refresh the page or move to a new thread, as without a cookie being present the forum will 'forget you'. I suspect that this is what has happened in your case, you've accessed the forum from behind this proxy service and tried to access a members only area whilst being effectively logged out.

If you feel the need to access DJU from behind this service then make sure that (if the option is given) you allow cookie data to be transfered.

Also, these types of services use IP ranges which often get flagged globally for abuse. We have a huge database containing 1000's of such IP addresses which are gathered and updated by a third party on a regular basis. These IP's are routinely blocked from the forum server. If you happen to log in with an IP from the range that is being blocked, then you won't be able to see the forum, let along log in.

If you can't see the forum using this service then it looks like their entire IP range has been identified and added to the database of 'bad' IP ranges that we get.

It looks to be a secure proxy. All your web traffic (when using the toolbar) is encrypted, and passed through their system. The main aim appears to protect users when using unsecured networks.

They look fairly legit, but I'd not be too happy about anyone other than my ISP knowing my surfing habbits!

I only use it when playing Starcraft 2, and even then that's just until they fix the bug that's appeared in the new patch. Pay £70 for a game and a month later it doesn't work properly :lil devil: :lil devil: :lil devil: :lil devil: :lil devil:

Tend not to leave it on when surfing as I don't have anything to hide!

Mind you, I did a bit of research into the plugin and let's just say "It has it's uses", mainly I've discovered that while it's on you get access to Hulu. An American on demand TV & movie service :ads: which is only available in america :ads: :ads:
