bigMCben 0
Just a bit of fun to get us through quiet and miserable January. Give ONE song that you would consider 'inappropriate' as a first dance at a wedding my suggestion is........ Phil Collins & Marilyn Martin - Separate Lives

Robster 0
Mr Brightside by the killers although i was asked for it , i did point out its lyrics but it was the song they met to on a dance floor Killers guitarist Dave Keuning wrote the song about lead signer Brandon Flowers ex-girlfriend who cheated on him. Flowers recalled to Q magazine March 2009 how he discovered her with another man at the Crown and Anchor pub in his hometown of Las Vegas: "I was asleep and I knew something was wrong. I have these instincts. I went to the Crown and Anchor and my girlfriend was there with another guy." Flowers added that the song was "born" at the Crown and Anchor. so its about cheating !!! not really appropriate for a first dance but if they wanted it , its there choice! Now they're going to bed And my stomach is sick And it's all in my head But she's touching his chest Now, he takes off her dress Now, letting me go And I just can't look - it's killing me And taking control Jealousy, turning saints into the sea swimming through sick lullabies Choking on your alibis But it's just the price I pay Destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes '˜Cause I'm Mr Brightside Rob Star EntertainmentsFacebook pagelandline 0161 265 3421Mobile: 0777 99 777

Supradave 0
I always feel guilty playing Young Hearts Run Free at weddings. I think one of the opening lines is "whats the point of sharing this one and only life" I've been asked a couple of times to play "Somebody else's guy" by Jocelyn Brown at weddings but usually politely refuse just in case the requestee is a disgruntled ex. I've played Gold Digger by Kanye West a few times at weddings and fortunately people have seen the funny side of it.

Dukesy 0
Lady Gagarararara - Bad Romance Tina Turner - Private Dancer Pink - Family Portrait Believe it or not, there are people out there who think that 'Street Life' and 'Lady in Red' are songs about prostitutes :ads: . I've been approached by elderly members of the audience on both occasions, and chastised for playing unsavoury tracks . If you read the lyrics of a lot of popular mainstream songs, we probably would have a very short and boring playlist . Seems that relationship breakdowns and being trapped in a bad marriage are very lucrative subjects for the pop world and selling music. That also goes for most whining R 'n' B tracks too - if they aren't singing cheerfully about gangs blowing each other away, its nearly always a subject around / getting revenge on their other half walking out on them. Well, its true I've been asked a couple of times to play "Somebody else's guy" by Jocelyn Brown at weddings but usually politely refuse just in case the requestee is a disgruntled ex. LOL, you do Weddings where the Bride and Groom invite their Ex's to their Wedding Reception?? :scared: . Damn, I have led a sheltered life :joe:

Damn, I have led a sheltered life :joe: I did a friends wedding where her TWO previous husbands and her two ex boyfriends also turned up , her first wedding she got married in a black wedding dress. She has 5 kids with four different dads she is currently getting divorced and her last boyfriend is moving out as she is bored with him after he has just decorated her house and bought her loads of new furniture and a cooker for xmas just gone. She is being named in a divorce of a new bloke she has found on the net by a disgruntled wife ..still its another engagement and wedding gig for me !!! funkymook 0
Believe it or not, there are people out there who think that 'Street Life' and 'Lady in Red' are songs about prostitutes Lady In Red - that's obviously not. But Street Life (if you mean Randy Crawford rather than Roxy Music) I always thought was, and also about homelessness and drugs. Have I got that totally wrong? There's always love for sale A grown up fairy tale Prince charming always smiles Behind a silver spoon And if you keep it young Your song is always sung Your love will pay your way beneath the silver moon http://www.indieretrodj.com http://www.souldisco.co.uk
Dukesy 0
LOL, I always thought that this... You never people see Just do you wanna be And every night you shine Just like a superstar The type of life that's played A temptin' masquerade You dress you walk you talk You're who you think you are Signified casino's and Theatres and Nightclubs and the nightlife and sights on a typical Amercian city street. Basically the glitter and glam of the superstar lifestyle and people seeking such. .......thats another mellow buffet type track heading for the skip then. At this rate, we'll only have Cliff Richard and Take That tracks to play

Chris J 0
Hi guys I had a request by the bride and groom for George Michael - Careless Whisper followed by Tenacious D - F:cense: Her Gently. They wanted Tenacious D first but thought it would shock the elders in their families This is a couple who don't like conforming to much as they told me!! But it was a cracking party

I dont get that many repeat customers like this though! Think I can possibly beat that, did an engagement, wedding and divorce party then another engagement for one couple (well just the guy for the last two) all in 9 months. Once the divorce comes through have been promised the wedding lol. Would have thought after all that he'd have chosen someone else - just in case. Best set of repeat business I've had from a private customer. Megasong A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. In theory it'll be fine in practise.... In practise it was fine in theory. McCardle 1
I did a Wedding in April, where the daughter was getting married, and both Stepdad and Birth Dad were at the reception, nothing strange about that you may think (although I was expecting punches to be thrown later), but what was strange was that both Husband and Ex-Husband got to smooch rather close and romantically with 'Mummy' at the end of the night. I guess up in the wilds and remoteness of the hills, they have to share everything......
